Lol he needs a knockout to get a decision in oakland, but it would be a great impression on the tournament.
exactly just who the **** is Ward? did you see him vs Miranda holding for dear life running like a ***** and playing keep away and getting a decision while stinking out the joint you think Dirrel runs and bitches Dirrel is Hagler compared to Ward. Ward isnt winning ****. Its that Kessler going 12 with Joe C seems to be the only thing Kessler has ever really done. No, Mundine and a short shot Beyer do not a great one make. So who knows there are a lot of ? about Kessler and Ward while no big deal is certainly better than Beyer and Mundine.
And so must everyone else in the tourney. However, I believe at least the two finalists will become household names and stars.
Ward who? Just another name on Kesslers resume. Honestly Ward right now is nothing in pro boxing regarding names. He has won the olympics but his resume as a pro is just building up.
Good point! But i do think most people will give Kessler the credit he deserves if he stops Ward, and look good doing it, no matter how bad Ward might look losing! The good thing in this tournament is that Ward can still bounce his way back and finish with a good result, even though he should lose to Kessler in the first fight, that way he can make Kess win look better and better! My point is that i see Ward as Kesslers hardest opponent now when Taylor is probably out of the picture, i dont see any other of the S-6 fighters give Kess to much trouble.. So a win over Ward can only build up Kesslers resume imo!
Same, I think Ward is a big threat. I'm not just saying that because its Kessler's first fight, I actually think it based on styles, his speed, variety, the way he frustrates opponents. Whereas Froch, Abraham, Taylor, they are quite predictable foes, Kessler likes predictable. Whoever loses this fight, as long as they don't get dominated because that would hurt their confidence bad, should be able to regroup and still do well.
A KO of Ward keeps Ward's judges from give him a decision, even if Ward gets knocked down in every round.
IF Kessler handles Ward easy ther'll be little left to suggest Ward is anything special compared to Beyer and Mundine. Ward is a lot of hot air right now. He MAY solidify into something real (especially if he beats Kessler). But a convincing loss to Kessler now and he's just another inflated american hypething untill perhaps in time he actually performs on top level. So a win over Ward won't change much about ppl's perception of Kessler - mostly just their perception of Ward.
