Liakhovich getting up and grabbing the ropes as nearly a reflexive action? I don't know about that one, he was pretty fried, but that was no auto pilot type of work there. I think he would have beat the twenty count seeing how far up he was at four.

I do know what you mean. I remember seeing Chuck Lidell and many others still trying to fight reflexively when they are clearly on another planet at that point, however, this didn't seem to be the case to me. They could have definitely taken more time to find out if it was.

If you want to think conspiracy, you can submit that maybe that is why they stopped it, because they knew Sergei would easily beat a twenty second count and therfore the clock making the thing go the cards.

Just watched it again man. All I can say is that it was a bad situation. Stitch Duran ran over to Sergei right away. Obviously we'll never know if he would have made it back into the ring but I'm inclined to believe that he wouldn't have. I felt bad for him because it was a horrible way to lose a title. He had to survive for less than a minute and got stopped. Personally, I'd have rather have gotten shut out on the cards than to have gotten stopped in the last 30 seconds.

Lyakovich still wouldnt make the 20 count with all those people helping him into the ring.
