Nicknames that boxers themselves didnt like

I once met Chuvalo at the WBHOF banquet,and made some kind of reference to Ali calling him the washerwoman. It didnt come out right and i meant no disrespect to CHuvalo,he looked like he wanted to KNock me out. Hes probably pushing 70 but still looks like a badass you wouldnt want to mess with. Glad i got a pass.

 

Calzaghe doesn't like Calfaggy. Probably.

I think he like 'Mighty Mike' even less. I think this was a Don King attempt at a new nickname instead of Iron

 

Ricky Hatton likes being called Fatton because he doesn't care what people think. Yeah, he's not an A-class fighter but the guy tried at least. I read his autobiography, too - it's good and funny. He has a good sense of humour and can laugh at himself.

Lewis never grabbed on to the "The Lion". Couldn't have liked it much. When it comes to a great fighter with a lame nickname, this might be tops (although someone mentioning "Onion Farmer" is in a class by itself).

 

Packy didn't like being called The Mexicutioner

 

I don't see how Mount Whittaker could have liked his nickname "Goofi", Rock Newman gave him that name.

 

I guess Golota doesn't likes The Foul Pole nickname

 

I dont understand why he didn`t like that name.. It sounds really cool!

Imo its one of the best nicknames i ever heard.. and it fits Tyson quite well

 

I don't know many but Quitali Quitshko is definitely one of my favourites.
