Dude, did you read what Gato said... Cotto tried to throw him down... You know, the famous Cotto body slam moves he used to Clottey and Urkal... BUT Cotto was not able to throw Gato down since Gato is a wrestler himself before becoming a boxer...:hi:

Figoera said himself that he's not a sparring partner but a fighter. But he's getting paid to be a sparring partner. He tried to make Cotto look bad in there and frustrate him with his 'Gato moves', but that is not the purpose of a sparring session. The purpose of sparring is to help prepare a fighter for a fight, but it seems as it was more important for Figoera to boast his ego.

 

I was just responding to a guy here who called Gato a "f*cking a$$hole" coz he's saying he wrestled for 7 years which is very true...

When Gato said Cotto can't throw him down, I think there's some truth to it since Gato knew those moves... Gato is a wrestler way back in high school...

Maybe we could have a match between them after the Manny fight. This would probably prove who is wrong and right Is Gato just a show off sparring, but fails in true fights... Or is Gato better than Cotto. Lets make this happen for 2010

 

Figueroa probably needs an ego boost pretty badly. He's trying to set himself up as another Kostya Tszyu and duplicate what KT did with the Tszyu Crew, but he doesn't have the fan base and he doesn't have the qualifications. An ancient Bailey one-punched him into oblivion with ease.

The other posters in this thread were right. It's not Cotto's job to chase him down while he clowns and mugs and does his little ego trip. It's Figueroa's job to emulate Pac's style the best he can and give Cotto work. He's being PAID to do that, just like a painter is paid to paint your walls. If you paid a painter to give you a new coat of paint in the frontroom, and instead he set up an easel and started bragging about what a masterpeice he's going to create on your time, wouldn't you throw him out of the house?
