HBO Video : Freddie Roach Talks About Margarito Controversy

This is the first useful thing Roach has said in a while.

It's pathetic how some people are calling Cotto a coward for not taking the rematch. Margarito deserves NOTHING. No payday, no network coverage, no fan support, NOTHING. He should be living in Luis Resto's shitty, windowless basement, eating instant soup for the rest of his life.

Cotto is showing dignity and discipline in not trying to avenge himself, he knows who the moral loser is, the man who is shamed and lkost all credibility and dignity. Margarito is a cockroach who should be avoided like the plague, and be too ashamed to show his face to his family and his country again.

Props to Cotto for sticking to his principles.

 

Freddie's 100% right. You don't start cheating in title fights. Putting plaster (rocks) in your gloves is attempted murder.

Put it like this. Roach would not put some **** out there unless it is well known in the boxing community that the **** was plaster or something to get the wraps extremely hard. The reports were the wraps were not rock hard but WOULD NOT BEND. That gump Bazooka told me that wraps left out over night stretched out could cause this... lol. I mean it is time to admit that everybody knows something was ****ed up about what he did. He knows it, Capellito knows it. HBO boxing knows it and knew it. If they were wrong, Margarito could sue the dog **** out of them and he would of fought the suspension. But that did not happen.

The worst thing a fighter can be accused of is cheating. AM did or did not cheat in the Cotto fight, but he got caught trying to cheat in the next fight, and that is enough suspicion for the boxing public to believe AM could have cheated in the past. AM might not be guilty, but in the court of public opinion, AM is...

Margarito is a complete idiot. Even if he thinks anyone is stupid enough to ever believe his story of not being aware of his wraps.....wouldn't he be PISSED at his trainer and not want any connection at all to him?

I forget when exactly, but a few months ago Margarito was seen in the ring with Capetillo talking to him and what not after a fight (in Mexico). Unbelievable.
