Adamek has gone from strength to the strength since his only defeat. Whereas Dawson has been quietly consolidating at 175. If Dawson had gone the Adamek route how would he fair?
Adamek was always a pretty big, stocky 175. I don't think he'll be all that successful at CW, but he's got a good chin. Dawson, I'm not so sure he has. Plus he can apparently still make 168, despite being 6'3" he's not all that big in frame.
Dawson is not a big guy. He is a comfortable 175lb fighter, I think for just now Adamek would be the better HW. Just because he is naturally bigger, and has a sturdier chin.
What's with all the pick on Dawson threads? He's in a weak division, his best possible fight openly refuses to fight him and he seems open to going down a division to get a good fight and his tv affiliation may allow that to happen. The Ademak folks really seem to want some higher-weight revenge. But you know the answer to this, why ask?
Chad Dawson would make an awesome HW at 6'3 with his speed but his chin would be the biggest question here and also how he retains his power and speed with added weight. Adamek improved on power tremendously.
Chad needs to go down to smw and challenge some of them. After fighting Glen again. I wish Roy And Bennard would quit being scared and fight him. One or both might win. Probably not though, But a good pay day none the least. Him and dirrell would be a good fight huh?
I don't see Dawson making it at Heavyweight. I have questions about his chin that would quickly get answered.
Dawson is naturally small. Adamek was killing himself to make weight. Neither make a good heavy weight. But if they fought at Heavy. Adamek wins the rematch. Dawson would be slowed down from the weight.
Dawson doesn't have many options. If he moves up to cruiser he is in an empty division. If he moves down to SMW he may kill himself. The jump up to Heavy may be too much. However I can see a few guys from SMW moving up a division. It happens naturally to fighters as they get older. With all the talent at SMW, if a few of them moved up then Chad can make some decent fights. Of course, that is if he is still comfortable at LHW by then. I wouldn't be surprised if a fighter from the super six decided to fight him at LHW. I'm not thinking of anyone in particular.
