Cotto is a more intelligent, versatile fighter then Trinidad. If this turns into a boxing match, I can see Cotto winning a UD or possibly late KO.

PFB Tito is a notch below Chavez on the ATG list. Chavez is an elite atg where as Tito is an average ATG,lots of guys above Tito only a handful above Chavez if that. I think a prime chavez at 140 could have pulled of the weight jump against Cotto.

Yep. No way he won that fight.

Anyway Tito would hurt Cotto badly.

Trinidad is such a sharp puncher. I would bet on him getting Cotto out of there before twelve.

Simple thread, simple answer. Miguel Cotto, even as a Welterweight, has been shown he can get hurt by the Margarito and Clottey variety of fighter. Margarito being a slow plodder, throwing telegraphed uppercuts for most part, with Clottey being much more refined but not considered a big hitter by any stretch of the imagination. When you consider that Trinidad could match Clottey in terms of fundamentals, and still deliver left hooks that decimated William Joppy up at 160lbs, you have yourself a pretty definitive winner. Trinidad would catch a bit of leather early on, Cotto has excellent timing and a good left hook of his own. But you shouldn't hook with the hooker, and Trinidad would inevitably land which will hurt, wobble, knockdown, and eventually, knockout Miguel Cotto.

Cotto is a very good fighter,But Tito would be just too much and way to strong for Cotto, remember Trinidad was easily destroying and knocking out guys at 160

I feel Cotto is the better boxer, but Tito is more physically gifted
