I honestly have no idea, it doesn't make sense to me. going from a 15lb gap from LHW to 190 and changing it to a 25lb gap. The other thing you do is exactly that, take guys who should be small fast 215-225 lb heavies and make them into huge cruisers.
it is unreasonable to ask guys who are naturally 175-190 to fight such monsters as we have in the HW division today. They have 4 pound separations in the lighter weights (yes I know it's not exactly the same) why scrap a division that has been great in the past and could be today? I've been watching Adamek a long time...love the guy. Comes to fight, but is not a crude brawler. He can and does block punches with his arms and moves his head OK, but he can get hit too easily which at the HW division could be fatal. He took Golota's punches very well. I'm excited to see him get props, especially in Poland where Golota was way more known and respected.
You say 190lbs is not enough but what about Marciano, who was a 180lber? Would he not be able to compete with the elite heavyweights today, because of his size? I think he would be an elite heavyweight.
Adamek is a good fighter, but he's not special. Golota is completely past it. Knocking him out doesn't prove much, everyone knocks out Golata. I mean the guy has been stopped in the first round like 3 times. Adamek was completely outclassed by a 24 year old Dawson with no big fight experience. Cunningham outboxed him as well. Adamek scored 3 knockdowns and still only managed a split decision. I believe he was losing all 3 of those rounds were he scored a KD. If Cunningham was able to stay on his feet, he would've won a wide decision. Again, Adamek is a very good fighter and I have a lot of respect for him. However, he's not special, he's not Jack Dempsey.
You didnt watch the fight Adamek - Cunningham. Adamek was winning at least 2 of 3 rounds where he scored a KD.
He would be elite cruiser. I cants see him being competetive fighter against Klitsckos. Wlad 206cm reach against Marciano 170cm reach?
If he loses against the Klitschko's, it's not just because of size though. They're are quality fighters. What about Marciano vs. Peter, Maskaev etc.? He'd now them down.
Trust me, I saw that fight. Cunningham definately won one of those rounds. He was warming Adamek up and got KD at the end of the round. He was arguably winning at least one of those other rounds.
he is a good fighter but he wont make too much noise at HW. I could see Haye beating him easy. Fast Eddie might do circles around him too. Would like to see Ademak vs Povetkin.
Obviously a important facet of a sport where men have beaten one another to death with their fists. :verysad Shut the **** up.
