A knee from Machida & a kick by Rua, both nice shots, the difference is.... we know which one did more damage & we know which one connected more often throughout.... case closed, Rua is ONCE AGAIN the top 205 lber in the world.

I dont know where or what idea about fighting the judges and some people have on here, but by the end of the 3rd round i could see a dynamic lateral mover like Machida, reduced to a plodding mess who card hardly move his legs, his ribs looked so bad im suprised none were cracked, and the difference in body language in the last 2 rounds was there to see, Machida looked like a broken man, Rua had the spring of someone who knew he was winning.

As for Machidas counter right hand to Rua`s leg kicks, Rua blocked his fair share of those punches. Machida is one of my favourite fighters, but was beaten this time.

As for leg kicks dont finish fights,, anyone who claims that should get in the ring with someone like Rua and take a few, i bet you will be finished, and fast.

    Exactly.

Id like everyone that doesnt count leg kicks as anything special to go around asking the opponents of Shogun, Pedro Rizzo, Marco Ruas or even Sakuraba (who was smaller & more of a grappler but learned those kicks because of how effective they could be) if in fact those blows should be counted or not, see what kind of answer those opponents give them.

Due to Rua's aggression he made Machida's kicks not look as good because he is making takedown attempts immediately after being kicked or knee'd. Machida would get caught and step back. Rua would get caught and come again.

Dude, you don't need all that even someone who never kick before can hurt an untrained person badly if he kicked right. To be honest to hurt someone untrained with a kick all you need to know is: kick with lower part of the shin bone, try to cut through the leg.
I've been kicked while not trained, and even the lightest of kicks hurt.

Um, note Machida's left hand connecting to Rua's jaw simultaneously when Rua's kick lands.

Why would you post that as evidence for the supposed superiority of Rua? The knee that Machida lands is by far the best strike in that gif, and as someone else said, Rua ate a massive counter straight to the jaw coming in with that bodykick.

This is actually a pretty good example of how deluded the Rua camp is: Two brutal kneestrikes and a counter left by Machida vs one kick to the body by Rua = SHOGUN OWNZZZZZZ MACHIDA SUXORS!!!!!11!§

Yeah, and how long is that gif vs how long is the fight. Those clips were hardly the story of the fight, if it were, then it wouldn't have resulted in Machida gassed, limping from leg kicks. Watch the whole fight and see who landed the more effective blows.

Sorry but if that was his game plan it wan't very good, basically wear him down was his game plan, Shogun was always on the defensive, his game plan never involved winning the fight, it was damage limitation until he countered, it was not impressive enough to win the fight. It's almost as if Shogun was saying I can't attack Machida or i will get ko'd.... next time I would like to see shogun be more aggressive.

I thought Shogun fought well, but because of the way he fought at the end of the fight he must have thought it was 50 / 50 if he had won.

That didnt look as if it connected at all, your clutching at straws now & if it did connect then its clear to see it had absolutely 0 effect on Rua.

Anyway - no **** is saying Machida never landed any shots for ****s sake, of course he did, he`s a great fighter & one of the top 2 LHWTs in MMA but he was 2nd best on this night vs the other top 2 LHWT, thats all people are saying.

    :rofl

    Log out.

Ive noticed that the 3 or 4 people on the entire internet (& everywhere else for that matter) that claim the decision was correct are thick as ****, further proof that the overwhelming majority are correct when the weirdos that think Machida won are terribly unreliable.

No 205 lber will beat a fully fit Rua, Machida the `unbeatable` found this out & it doesnt matter what strategy Lyoto uses in the rematch, he will lose to the better fighter - again.
