Isn't it time that Pacman actually fights for a belt?

All this talk about all the great fighters he's facing, and not a damn one of them is a current champ.

The fact is Pac hasn't fought for a belt since Juan Manuel Marquez got the draw against him. The other truth is he fought Morales everytime coming off a loss, and lost one of those fights, and fought Larios coming off a KO loss and couldn't take him out.

Now he chooses to fight another aging fighter coming off a loss.

When the final history of Manny Pacquio is written, it won't be kind unless he starts beating current champs, and get's a belt to start defending.

Because he hasn't been a "champ" in over 4 years after defending to Emanuel Lucero in 2003.

Even you're getting tired of the circle jerking I see, though it's with a younger fighter with a rabid fanbase and not a polite, apologist style fanbase, but the same thing.

MAB-Pac at this point is about as worthless as it gets, I was pretty pissed when it was announced instead of a match up with JMM or Guzman, or even Soto for that matter.

It's about time he leaves MAB and Eric alone and rematches with JMM or fights the winner of Soto/Guzman. He has a definite shot here at becoming a top 50 ATG, he's already a top 80 IMO, but this was a total waste of 2008, even though realistically fighting MAB again is not THAT much worse than fighting an old DLH like Mayweather did in terms of legacy points.

I just hope he's concentrating on fighting fully.

I dont get you people one second your saying the abc's dont mean crap and we need a champion who totally disregards it and the next your saying that fighter needs to fight for a title.

Well if it would loosen your panties up, Pacquiao vs Barrera 2 IS for the ring belt title.

I've been saying this for a while. PAC needs to man up and fight a Champion while in reign! He's still living off of MAB 4yrs ago, and an aging EM! Time to fight JMM again, or the other Champs til then he's not the #1 130lber. He resume aint **** there. 6 fight 4 of them where his opponent was coming off of a loss, and two of them where the opponent was moving up in weight! In Larios's case both. Next up MAB who's coming off a loss. WTF...I don't mind the fight w/MAB, but it's the pattern that I mind!

Time to step up PAC,..suprise us and fight someone your size, who's not coming off a loss, and who has a belt!

It wasn't for the ring belt no matter what Mayweather said, but he did go on the beat the ring/lineal Champion didn't he! If Pac wins he'll probably decide to take on the loser of the JMM-Juarez fight!:yep

That way he can stay consistant!!

Its really mistake PAC isn't fighting for belts.
Its OK he is beating the best Mexicans but if you look on his record from the
perspective then it will take only one serious lose that PAC fade into the oblivion.
Morales is retiring, MAB also, PAC doesn't beat Marquez.

From the perspective if PAC loses sooner or later then people will only
remember PAC beat old MAB and very faded Morales.

Hate is stronger than love and last a lot longer. Usually people love only
one person at a time and have good feeleing about the previous affects.
But the hate may be equally distributed between many objects and last the whole life.
So if PAC fails his haters dominate his nuthuggers who will find another object to love.

He rwas removed by Bob Arum when there was still the schism between Top Rank and GBP, and a fight between the two wouldn't have been feasible.

I doubt it's for the Ring belt, since that requires #1 vs #2. And JMM is #2, not MAB.

Unless there are special circumstances, and you can fight #3. But you can't do that when #3 JUST lost to #2.

The ABC belts don't mean much, but they do when they are held by young unbeaten champions who can obviously fight. We say the ABC's mean little, but we also say "The fighters make the belts" and Guzman especially (double if he beats Soto) is a good fighter and Pacman needs his belt. Besides, Pacman isn't fighting for belts because he doesn't want to pay the fees, not because of any principles.
