Young is Being Trained By Former 2 x WBO World Champion Paul Weir.
He was at the Thistle Hotel the other Night at Alex Morrisons show and
he looks very light, i even say he was a light welterweight.

looked Good tho, i dont think this will be a walk in the park for mcmillan.
Young can punch with both hands, and Peter Harrison his former trainer reckons YOUNG wins this fight inside 7 /rounds

gary young is being trained by former 2 time WBO Flyweight champion Paul Weir.
They were at Thistle Hotel show on Friday and Gary Young looks so Light and chissled he looks like a 140lb not 147!

His Former trainer Billy nelson -(who knows his stuff) reckons young will be far too over powering for Mcmillan - and after seeing him in the Flesh on Friday - my money is on Wee Gary Young.
    more than likely by KO.

I would go with Young on this one, dont rate Mcmillan he has no punch power and I think Young will walk through everything and get his own shot's off. Young KO/wide points.

    my two predictions ARE-

Gary Young either pulls out of this fight like he did his last one when he was scheduled to fight in the states or the fight goes ahead & he loses to McMillan

Also Im not impressed by this bill. Although I think its a good main event between two prospects, the undercard will no doubt be **** poor. Two weeks to go Limond, Hughes etc are scheduled to fight good ole TBA! & we all know what TBA means this close to the event- journeymen:deal Thats right- journeymen:deal

    yep, journeymen:deal

I dont really mind the young prospects fighting journeymen at this stage in their careers, but Limond is the one that really saddens me. So much talent being wasted fighting guys he is obviously too good for at this late stage in his career. Billy Nelson said a few months back that he expected an "announcement" to be made regarding Limonds next fight but nothing happened.
I mean, cant Willies promoter get him a fight with Buckland or Castle for instance? These guys arent at say John Murrays level, but they would still be thought of as good fights for Limond.

Im just a little frustrated being a Limond fan and seeing his career wasted like this:pc

Think that was only according to the Scotsman newspaper, Pacquiao would be severly underprepared if his chief sparring partner was Gary McMillan

(from interview in my local rag! and talks in south edinburgh)

Gary Young didn't pull out the last two scheduled fights, his S.E.C.C Event was Cancelled when he was due to Fight Spitko, and the fight in L.A fell through because his manager was cutting corners and not doing his job properly,.. He matched Young at middleweight - against Tony Hirsch, and it's my understanding his manager breached contract with something more serious and forced a split.
Young Left L.A suddenly - with help of close friends.

I think the entire show is looking very good, as BILLY NELSON stated.

I also think Willie Limond's had a great career, and i think the main important thing at this stage in his career is to keep active and fight as often as possible inbetween Major Title Fights.

on the Welter War tho - ITS GARY YOUNG! All The Way - Dont Think McMillan has really got the beatings of Him, and if the original match had happened against Kev Macntyre - he'd have been Stopped inside 3 rounds.. i think McMillan will be up for it, and no-doubt be in fantastic shape but i cant see him Winning this fight..

Can anyone confirm if Young has or hasn't signed with Ricky Hatton promo's??

BILLY NELSON BIG RESPECT! HOW DO YOU SEE McMILLAN VS YOUNG GOING??

I MET YOU IN 2004 AT AN OPEN SPARRING SESSION IN GRACEMOUNT WITH GARY YOUNG (I WAS THE DJ)

B; GARY YOUNG TOLD BRITISH BOXING.NET LAST YEAR - THAT HE WAS ALWAYS HAPPY WITH THE TRAINING TEAM HE HAD IN GLASGOW, HE RATED YOU AND PETER HARRISON VERY HIGHLY AND WISHED HE COULD HAVE TAKEN THE ENTIRE STABLE TO L.A WITH HIM...

SO DID HE APPROACH YOU TO TRAIN HIM FOR McMILLAN?
HAVE YOU BEEN ADVISING OR INVOLVED IN THE FIGHT BUILD UP?
AND WILL YOU BE BACK IN GARY'S CORNER ON FIGHT NIGHT?

Gary Macmillan's name was in a philipino newspaper as well, listed as one of Manny's main sparring partners at the time, I've seen the clipping, it's up on the wall of our gym. It said something Gary bringing something new to the able that the other sparring partners weren't in that he was tall and a southpaw.

Remember, top fighters don't always have world class sparring partners. I remember Hatton used to bring in pro's with records like 3-3 for his camp. Maybe they do it so they don't have to pay them as much money, but it's still done.

I always favoured Young for this Fight but after Reading the SUN today,

McMillan sounds like an arrogant child, grown men dont have turf wars son!

suppose its up to Young to Close his mouth tho!

Dont know who the **** Gary Mcmillan thinks he is in the sun newspaper today, the things he was coming out with made him sound like a little muppet, he thinks he's a world beater but in reality he's a **** boxer with 0 power.

Come on Gary Young son, Knock this clown out!
