Just have to get it off my chest after viewing last nights episode of 24/7, as it appears as though this series is well on its way to being the worst one since Jones/Calzaghe.

The Pacquiao vs Cotto fight is quite easily the most mouth watering matchup in recent years, and it’s such a shame the 24/7 episodes fail to equate the importance of this showdown. Pac is leaping boundaries once again by aiming to clinch another world title in a weight class he doesn’t belong in, whilst Cotto himself is more than just a formidable opponent. He’s a man who a year or so ago, would have easily been the favourite to win. The thought of these two even fighting a year ago, was unimaginable.

Yet the episodes so far haven’t emphasised this significance, which is bizarre because it’s surely something the casual fan would like to know, and something the hardcore fan would like to be reminded of. But instead we’re treated to repeated clips of family members cuddling and kissing one another on the golf field. Come off it man! It’s ok doing it one episode, but doing it again and again just becomes tiresome!

I’m also fully aware of the HBO’s intention of the series, as perhaps its main aim is to make the casual fan purchase the fight. Use loyal lot will buy the fight regardless of whether there is a series or not, but at least don’t bore us with the same **** again and again. The days when the episodes use to build you up in excitement for the fight are gone now, and it seems the old HBO Countdowns were far more affective. Man I miss them.

So come on HBO, fix up, sort your **** out, and stimulate the viewers again. Because it seems like people here are beginning to prefer Showtime’s 360!

hmmm if that is indeed the case, then maybe it would be better to put it on a Sunday night. However HBO would have done their homework, there must have been strong evidence that suggests Saturday night to be the best time to air it.

I agree the show was a bit typical, but maybe what they are doing does attract a larger audience? It's a possibility that most people with HBO are those who have families. Seeing Cotto and his son like that was pretty cool. Maybe these type of shows (family oriented) grabs the average father/fans attention a lot more than emphasizing how significant this fight is

The only part i've found amusing in this whole series so far is where ariza exposes kroncz as a leach in team pac-man( he is absolutely correct )
and miguel cotto playing with his fat friend.

Yeah I suppose I can understand the whole family aspect of it. But yesterdays episode just felt like it was the week before, difference only being the extra bodies jumping in the pool.

But yeah, that Kroncs and Ariza moment was pretty good

I definitely agree that they could be emphasizing the greatness of each fighter and the momumental achievement it woul dbe for Pac to beat Cotto.

The mayweather Marquez 24/7s were pretty good. It seems like this series is just about the most boaring I've ever seen. I'll cut them some slack its a lot tougher to produce good **** when the two guys you're focused on pretty much can't speak a like of english. These ones are just so unorrignial and boaring. The 24/7s have always mainly focused on the fighters' relationships and what not but lately its like they forgot to focus on the fight.

Whoever said the comment about episode two being the same as episode one just more bodies jumping in the pool pretty much sumed it up.

Well, Cotto ain't a good self promoter at all, and his lack of english hurts.

Pac's not really intriguing himself, thus Roach has to carry it.

Pac and Cotto both do their thing in the ring, not out of it. Makes for bad TV.

I don't understand how boxing fans can moan about 24/7.. Following 2 camps before the biggest fights of their career.. this **** ain't a scripted movie, its real life.. be thankful you get any coverage instead of moaning like a bxtch..
