Just looked on boxrec, and this fights happening on 23/01/2010 at Madison Square Garden (same night and location JuanMa takes on Luevano). Thought it was quite a smart move, if Gamboa takes him out while Lopez was literally another round from losing, I spose it will create a lot of hype for Lopez-Gamboa mid 2010! (as long as Juanma beats Luevano of course) Anyone else knew this fight was happening?
My money is on Gamboa cause Mtagwa will have to move up in weight but i won't be shock if Mtagwa pulls it off. I wish Mtagwa fight Caballero instead cause i bet ya Mtagwa would give Caballero hell.
I've known this for about 2 weeks. Since the Luevano/JuanMa fight is for the WBO Featherweight title and Gamboa is the WBA champ, assuming Gamboa and JuanMa both win then when Gamboa/JuanMa happens it will be a unification match.
