GTFO! with that **** Rummy, smoke 3 joints and watch any of the Hopkins vs Echols then get back to me to tell in which round you fell asleep bro.

Had he had the "prowess" you talking about, he wouldnt had lost the two fights versus Taylor man. :good

Come on. Are you not amazed by his tactical abilities at an ELITE level at such an advanced age?

    He's one of a kind!

I had him losing the first Taylor fight, but I thought he convincingly won the rematch. I also had him edging out Calzaghe, but regardless, the technical chess match on display in that one is something I truly appreciate.

I know I'm in the minority, but I loved watching Hopkins-Calzaghe.

And what he did to guys like Pavlik, Tarver, and especially Trinidad was just a work of art!

    :smoke

By "tactical abilities", do you mean huggin and hitting behind the head right? :D

Dont take me wrong I give him credit for some of the stuff he has done but IMHO had it not been for the Tito fight most people wouldnt know who Hopkins was and he would still be fighting in ESPN FNFs. His style is NOT crowd pleasing at all bro. Yes he has the skills but he NEVER pulls the trigger i.e. Taylor or Calzaghe. You have to WIN the fight by KO or convience the judges, the fans are not the judges.Yet he KO Tito and I still hurt because of that but the fight was boring as hell which is why people at the MSG were booing Hopkins that night. A guy who has fought his entire career at 160 in a brawler style all of the sudden is going to become this tactical genius agaisnt a guy who is coming up from the welters to challenge him. The only thing Hopkins did good that night was copied ODLH's plan.

how can he say it when pac is 2 years older and has more 6 years added experience as a pro ? stupid. morales and barrerra were considered shot at a younger age than him. what can be said also is that pac succeeded to finish some of his bouts early in a contradiction to them who had to struggle till the end.

great pics i have to say.
search engines really enhance the posters' ability to express themselves. however , i don't see pac ending that bad even if he will be stopped against cotto which is a hard question. the catchweight surely works big in pac's favor.

Hopkins whupped Taylor's ass the first fight. Taylor didn't land **** in the first half of the fight and then Hopkins started taking him apart and almost knocked him out in the 11th and 12th rounds.

If there was one more round, nobody would even know who Taylor is.

And his fight against Trinidad and Pavlik were masterpieces. He also knocked out Glen Johnson and completely dismantled Tarver and put a severe beating on him in the 11th and 12th rounds.

Hopkins also made Winky Wright look like he couldn't box, was the first man to stop De La Hoya, and fought several tough challenges throughout his career as he came up the hard way.

Hopkins lost against Calzaghe, but Calzaghe is actually a great fighter and Hopkins didn't have the stamina to counter every single attack. If you put the Hopkins that was in there with Trinidad I bet there would have been a different result.

How can anyone not say Hopkins is a masterpiece unless they're biased or just have no clue about boxing.

I personally think he's the best fighter of this generation.
