I just heard Mike Tyson lost 30lbs in 2 weeks when he fought Buster Douglas it seems crazy but im sure there are more. Fill me in on more if you can
Eubanks was obviously exaggerating when he made that claim. His weight 2 weeks before the fight would have been less than 20 pound higher than his weight on fight night.
George Foreman in his book said he dumped weight pretty quick on his comeback but I don't have it in front of me.
congrats reg on winning the division. The METS suck lol. That had to b the worst debacle in sports history, to be in 1st place for 100 and somethin days str8, lose the division and then b knocked out of playoff contention. OMgoodness I laughed my ass off when i seen that, my friend was tight b/c when my squad was losing games he was clowning me sayin the yanks wasnt gonna make it, and how the tables have turned. See you guys in the World Series if yall make it there.
When I fought George Jones, I was 193 3 days before I made 174.5lbs. Yeah, I was a half dead man walking.
Is this common practice in boxing or was Eubank a freak? Surely this kind of preparation must take something away from a fighter on fight night, and age them considerably?
I doubt it otherwise surely we'd have seen some photos of a fat 250lb Tyson circulating before the fight? With Tyson's physique at the time it would have taken weeks (maybe months) of eating the wrong things and neglecting training for his to have reached this level.
