If Golota had not have fouled Bowe, and had got his head straight

Golota was a mental midget. He had the potential to do it...Was winning (in both fights vs Bowe) but ****ed it all up because he's got psychological problems. (like Mike Tyson actually..)...Both these guys had serious mental issues.

 

He wouldn't be Andrew Golota. He would've been a great heavyweight...but not Andrew Golota. He'd probably be the prototype to the heavyweights we have today and would be mostly forgotten by all.

Golota isn't remembered because he was a good fighter. He's remembered because he was a ****ing psycho.

He was beating Bowe's ass. That was the stupidest loss I've ever seen.

 

But the sad part is that he WAS a good fighter.Dont forget that Andrew won a bronze medal right behind Bowe's silver and Lennox's Gold.The pedigree and skill were there.When it came to pure technique he had the goods.He just threw it all away in his prime.

Interesting, enigmatic fighter. Mad as a hatter too.

 

He had his chance. Lennox KO'd him bad. Byrd and Ruiz beat him. His DQ's meant nothing he still got his shots at the belt and still lingers today.

 

Golota always had panic reactions in the ring.

Just part of his make-up. No amount of preparation would have saved him.

 

The nutshots vs Bowe were what kept him in the fight, he started off strong but as Bowe hung in there and then wobbled Golota I thought he was starting to lose it.
Golota just benefited from a ton of hype being as he was the only quality white heavyweight at the time and that noone else besides Holyfield had run Bowe close.
Lewis wasted him a few months later and he seemed scared shitless of Lewis

He had a quality trainer too in Lou Duva, he would been mental whoever it was IMO, he was very good and a strong heavyweight for the time but Lewis , probably Tyson too, and maybe Holyfield would have beaten him anyway

 

Holyfield lost to Bowe and Bowe was crushed by Golota. Andrew had the skillset and physical attributes to beat anybody (minus the mental part).

 

Nah,I remeber him as much as a good entertainng fighter as much as a nut.

The man had talent and the physical attributes aswell.

 

Golota didnt crush crap, Bowe wobbled him and may even have knocked him down (cant remember) and was starting to come on and hurt Golota which was why Golota fouled out.
Who won the fight? Its Bowe 2-0 Golota.
Golota was a B+ heavyweight and a A+ personality, Lewis showed him for what he was.
