Williams v Martinez - It's Official!

From what I've read, it's his camp that wanted it at middle, without the 154 title. Because, the weight-changing wonder doesn't want to screw up his momentum at 160, where he wants Pavlik...eventually. That makes it pretty unlikely to me that he's ever going down to 147 again and a little unlikely that he's really focused on ever picking up a 154 title.

 

why is it a non-title fight if Martinez is the WBC champ? Is it a 10 rounder?

 

It's already been explained. The fight will take place at middlweight where neither guy holds a belt.

 

True, and Williams demanded a rematch clause. PDub is a good fighter, but the more interviews I read, the less I like him.

Goosen has nothing to do with it. PW and Peterson talk an endless stream of bull****, and it is not warranted.

 

I stopped reading about who was fighting Williams so long ago but its good to know there is still going to be a fight Dec. 5th, off topic but who is Clottey fighting and when?

 

They said the fight will be at MW but i think it's just going to be a little over 154. I think both will come in under 160.

Probably... I expect them to weigh in at about 155 - 157. Since both guys are really jr. middleweights there's no need to pack on the pounds to face one another.

 

How is Williams supposed to feel about being jilted twice by a guy who everyone thinks is going to knock his ****ing head off?



Williams is confident in his abilities, and he is not waiting around for Pavlik in order to prove it. Get over it.

He shouldn't have to wait. Hats off to Martinez for stepping up on short notice. I expect PW to win. He'll get his fight with KP, and find out he's not near as good as Peterson thinks he is.
