Neil Sinclair dismissed his many doubters with an impressive three-round stoppage of big Irish rival Henry Coyle earlier this year and continues to rebuild when he takes on Hungary’s Janos Petrovics in an eight-rounder on the Sexton-Rogan undercard tomorrow night.
Sinclair, 35, looked like one of the best fighters in Britain when he dismantled talented Welshman Bradley Pryce in eight rounds in his native Belfast in 2003 to secure a Lonsdale Belt for life. Then it all started to go wrong for the big-hitting "Sinky" who picked up a "sick note" reputation and, if he did turn up, folded on the night to so-so opponents after just a few rounds. His appetite for the game was gone, they said.
It was hard to argue.
Given all that, Sinclair confounded the experts when he hammered the dangerous Coyle last March and when he went 12 hard rounds with unbeaten local man Daniele Petrucci before that in Italy, conceding a close but unanimous decision. Petrucci was coming off a three-round crushing of Manchester's Craig Watson, so it shows you what a fine, gutsy display Neil produced that night. He was once good enough to challenge dangerous Puerto Rican Daniel Santos for the WBO welterweight title in a brief but spectacular affair in Sheffield. Sinclair had Santos on the floor but walked on to one in the second round. Santos can do that to anyone.
To the rugged Petrovics, who has been seven rounds with heavy handed Ryan Rhodes this year and is surprisingly aggressive and determined for a 38-year-old ‘opponent’ type. He busted up Swindon hope Jamie Cox in eight-rounder more recently, dropping the points, but has won his last two since.
In a good, entertaining, lusty affair, Sinclair takes the points.

As a newcomer I set up a thread asking where Rogan goes after this fight, win or lose - probably should have posted it within a thread but hoping my naivety will be excused!

So, without meaning to look beyond this fight should Rogan win tonight what next do you think for him?

Should it go the way of the first where does his career go then?

 

the winner will fight danny williams i believe for the british n commonwealth then i believe warren said he would get rogan a euro title fight

 

Cheers pal - I am very suprised Williams is carrying on after the way Prizefighter went for him.

As British Champ though he has obviously earned the right to decide if thats not how he wants his career to end.
