Nah Oscar even in his younger days had trouble against slick boxers.

Look at his fight with Pernell Whitaker where Pernell schooled Oscar. He was lucky he was an up and coming fighter and the Las Vegas judges saw dollar signs. Thats why he got the gift decision.

Yea, I don't think Oscar was shot. He was slowing for sure and footwork wasn't nearly there. Put a prime Oscar vs. Floyd and I think Oscar would get the UD with little problem

oscar lost his legs way before the floyd fight. his desire, before that. when you know that even after losing you can still make more money than any other boxer, it makes losing a lot easier.

Pernell didn't school Oscar -- that was an awful fight. All Pernell did was showboat without doing anything significant.

floyd is more all around fighter then pernell ever was 1.. everyone forgets that floyd was highest weight he ever been and looked a bit uncomfortable at that weight, in a smaller ring, different gloves, ... if the fight had been at 147 it would have been a total different fight guaranteed... a young oscar would have fared the same way at 147 don't fool yourselves.. oscar has always fought the same.. he was just faster but he has always been flatfooted fighter

The Mayorga fight was the last great Oscar performance but many had Oscar the winner against Floyd remember..

So have I, and I agree Floyd is no Pernell. But is he a slick boxer? yes he is.

Boxers give Oscar problems. Look at his fights with Brawlers compared to boxers.

Trinidad, Mayorga, Vargas, Gatti. He looked great against these guys.

Now compare his fights to real boxers. Quartey, Whitaker, Mosley, Hopkins, and Floyd. These guys gave him alot of problems.

dude everyone who saw Oscar vs Sturm knows he has been shot since that fight.

After the second Mosley fight Oscar became a part-time fighter. His prime ended right there and then.
