David Haye - Champion of the World

I was very impressed that Haye didn`t get close enough to allow Valuev to clinch and smother him.

Great performance from David and I am sure we will see him unleash when he fights Ruiz.

 

i dont know what people expected from this fight he was never going to stand and trrade and try to ko him.

haye had a gameplan and executed it perfectly well done david!

 

I must be missing something:

It was a boring fight, almost Holyfield v Valuev 2 and Haye got a decision, that could have arguably, on another night, time, gone the other way.

6 months or so ago, years ago, Valuev was seen as a total joke to boxing and an irrelevance to boxing... why all of a sudden does beating him equate to a victory over ALi?

Well done to Haye though, a tricky fight.

 

To be fair to Haye, it will be a different type of fight against another man... so look foward to it.

 

He's still won a world title in his second real fight at this weight...against a guy approximately 120lbs heavier than the weight he first won a world title at. Let's not get too negative, eh?

You are definitely right we'll see better in the future. If its Ruiz I expect a good fight. Ruiz will have to press the action and Haye is gonna counterpunch that SOB all night.

 

I think you have that wrong - Ruiz will be a dreaful fight for Haye.

Ruiz will do nothing but spoil and maul all night.

 

Ruiz will have to take chances to overcome Haye's physical attributes. Haye moves well and has speed so Ruiz has to get close, Haye will have every opportunity in the world to find the mark. If Ruiz is getting close and spoiling then Haye is probably fighting poorly and lacking accuracy. Ruiz has actually been better recently than he has for some years for holding.

It'll be a decent fight !

it did remove a title belt from IGOR so that can't be a bad thing and hopefully see some better matchups. Fight Tua.

Klitschkos still take him though.

Agree 100%! :good bit disappointed Haye ran so much TBH but in hiendsight it was quite obvious that would be his game plan, just expected him to engage more.

I've been out with loads of poles tonight, top lads, sound as ****!
