If..Hendo signs with strikeforce (i doubt he will...because they probably won't pay him the money he wants)...But "if" he does...Mousasi vs Hendo would be ****ing huge. Probably not as big as the machida vs shogun rematch. But still a top quality match up. Let's hope it happens..
I'm a big Hendo fan and would probably be pulling for him to win but he isn't getting younger and Mousasi, to me anyway, is cold as ice and is very good both on the feet AND on the ground. I'm not sure who would win and really would look forward to watching it. Lets hope they sign Hendo.
Hendo will murder him and then commit an act of necrophilia. This fight is an absolute mismatch. Sokodjou handled him in the clinch and put him on his back at will; Hendo will maul him horribly.
Mousasi is very good on his back. Also , Ever seen Hendo vs Misaki ? Bustamante ? Yuki Kondo ? Rogerio Nogueira ? ... an absolute mismatch ? You gotta be kidding. Yes hendo is the better wrestler but that's it. He fought a way more dangerous & powerful striker already (Manhoef)...& already had to fight a specimen like Jacare on the ground.
Poly I know you love Hendo and so do I but an absolute mismatch? Thats a bit strong. Mousasi is extremely good off his back and I could see him subbing Hendo from that position.
I was sold on Mousasi (and still am); but seeing Sokoddgjou reapatadly take him down from the clinch and control him convinced me Hendo would have an easy time doing the same. Hendo isnt getting knocked out, we know that. And while Mousasi is good off his back, he isnt sumbitting Hendo from his back and just isnt ont he same level as a wrestler/grappler at all. Some fans seem to think wrestling stops and starts with takedowns. If Hendo takes him down and wants to keep it there thats what happening; this isnt terry sokodjou.,
You may be right Poly but I'm not as convinced as you. Mousasi is extremely active on the ground and its not like Hendo can't be subbed.
The only thing Mousasi did majorly wrong was attempt to trade trips and tosses with a Judo blackbelt. A lot of those throws were initiated by Mousasi and reversed by Sokoudjou, who finally showed his Judo credentials in an MMA fight (actually he also tossed Machida in the first round of their fight). I wouldn't be majorly concerned that he didn't blow Sokoudjou away in the first round, as no one has ever done that; not Machida, not Arona, not Nogueira, not Cane, not Babalu, not anyone.
