Fiar enough he won but anytimne he was hit he was like an octopus.
Plus Wlad is usually mich bigger than his opponents.

OP was dead on and painfully, generously, and unnecessarily objective in conceding positive points for David Haye in an attempt to be fair as well as appease the expectant flaming ignoramuses.

And yet flamery still ensued.

Spot on analysis nonetheless; I await the day that Haye fights a Klit (or doesn't). If he does, regardless of win or lose (and I am heavily leaning toward the latter), I'd at least give him more credit and respect than I give him now for at least living up to a portion of his previous bravado.

 

So the guys a 2 weight champion, beats a man 90 pounds heavier than him and a foot taller, brings in a lot of publicity and has stated over the last few days he will fight a klitschko in the summer.
Were is the double standards exactly?

I just saw a news article and he showed his hand and it's about 4 times the size of his left - definitely broken.

 

I don't know why so many people are hating Haye, I think he proved a lot on Saturday night.

We've all seen him be the aggressor in fights, it comes naturally for him, but this was the first time I've seen him on the back foot counter punching. He showed that he can be patient and pick his shots and that he can go 12 rounds and still finish looking strong(and all this with a broken right hand). I admit that Valuev is by no means great and that there will be sterner tests down the line, but I have to say that Haye dispelled a lot of the fears I had about him coping as a HW.

His speed is second to non in the division and I believe he has the reflexes to frustrate ANY HW boxer, he just needs to build on the great work him and Booth have been doing since the Barret fight. Good luck to him!

haye knows he will get knocked out by either Klitschko. it's why he pulled out twice and took the easy route to the fake wba title.

haye sure did fight like a guy who knew he'd get the decision as long as he lasted 12 didn't he? king and sauerland would never do that though :0

Haye boxed to a plan.. the only plan he could use against Valuev unless you want to be leaned on by a 300ib giant for 12 round and or knocked out.
Wlad fights boring EVERY fight..even the chagaev fight when he got the tko in the 9th he was boring.
If youve ever watched a haye fight bar that one you will see that the guy brings knockout power and exciting fights, he has one boring fight and everyone says hes some sort of pretender!
As already discussed he had to build thefight up and give valuev a false sense of his game plan.

Haye's shortcoming - if you wish to view it in this way - is his recent verbal tirades at his opponents or possible future opponents. The point to note here is he's become particularly mouthy since moving to heavyweight, so it's arguable that this could be as much a promotional ploy than simply being just mouthy. Hype sells fights people.

Having seen a number of Haye interviews where he was confronted on the issue of not fighting Wlad or Vitaly his response has been consistent (point 2 below) and there were well publicised mitigating circumstances concerning his withdrawal from the Wlad fight:

1. Haye didn't fight Wlad because he injured his back; the sports channel that promoted this fight (Setanta) and were Haye's paymaster also went bust prior to the fight happening.

2. Stipulations in the signed contract with Wlad and the rejected contract with Vitaly made Haye contractually bound to fight either brother in the event that he defeated either brother. In effect Haye would need to defeat both brothers twice on predetermined terms e.g. location, ring size, percentage of purse etc.
