Cotto is a very good fighter who is capable of beating the best welters their is to offer. His problem is he sometimes likes to come in without throwing punches. I've watched him in plenty of fights inch his way forward without jabbing or even hooking. He likes to get in, set his feet and throw. Pac is way too fast at this weight for Miguel to have the same luxury he has had with slower legged opponents, Pac will dart in, throw, leave your boy hanging, and be back out. He can time Pac but it'll be hard at this time, because in Manny's last few fights he has really put it all together. Power, foot speed, hand speed, timing, head and shoulder movement, defense, accuracy, he's even started to clinch on the inside. He's much smarter now and doesn't make the same sloppy mistakes he was making for years.

I hope for a great fight, and I think it will be. I also see Miguel being very strong and determined, he will have times where he times Manny correctly and that will be when we see how Pac deals with a welters power. His best chance is to push Manny to the ropes and get him to trade, he can use his power and negate his foot speed.

Can't wait for this great fight. WAR PAC!!!!!:bbb:bbb:bbb

Pacs gonna quit in the ring. He will receive too much punishment, and his head will look like a pumpkin, after the fight.

I think that Miguel will sacrfice some power for quicker and more fluid punches. He did it in the margarito fight. He had to fight in retreat mode for the majority of the fight so he wasn't really set but he was throwing a lot of punches and landing cleanly.

Manny is no margarito (in terms of size and punch resistance). Those shots will take a toll on him.

True -- and Cotto also fought on the move very well against Mosely. A lot of people seem to expect Cotto to come in and decalre war on Pac. That's somewhat logical, but I don't think we'll see that. At least not in the early rounds.

He did it in the second half of the Mosley fight also, but i can't see Manny chasing Cotto around unless he gets down on the cards late. Marg was also willing to take those shots to give his own. I don't think Cotto will ever be able to find his rhythm.

Marg is no Manny (in terms of speed and movement). IF Cotto lands that many it should slow him down.

If cotto can back up pac with his size and power then pac will be in a long night, pac's gonna beat cotto in a boxing match IMO coz of his speed and movement.

The problem (as pointed out in the opening post). is that if Cotto is planting his feet trying to really impose his size on pacquio, manny is fast enough to land a few shots and get out of the way. What Cotto needs to do is let his hands go and land some shots without worrying about whether or not they are really those bone breaking shots that he's used to landing.

I think it all depends on how pac's takes cotto's punches. If cotto can sense that pac is feeling his punches and will impose his size then pac is in deep ****.

You're right....Cotto said he will fight intelligently and that they will punish
    Pacquiao.

I think they already have him figured out....the first round Cotto will measure his speed...make adjustments and commence to starching him !!!
