Ummm...Looks like I'll be going to Kellys first Title defense @ MSG!!! Pavlik by TKO (cuts) Campos opened up both eyes on Duddy like a surgeon. Kelly will butcher the Irishman.
A gimmee for Pavlik's first fight (undefeated but relatively untested) fighter, Pavlik will destroy Duddy as any top 160lber should do.
Not really. I've noticed KP takes a couple of rounds to really start to uncork his punches. Maybe in the 3rd. But I think Duddy is one tough SOB & will prob be cut up badly before he would wither & fall. If thats the case, maybe by 5 round he'll run out of blood & that will be it.
Duddy's manager was at the Pavlik-Taylor fight scouting the winner for a fight in March 08. Duddy's either stupid or suicidal, he should try to win the Wba and let Pavlik fight Abraham then go for a big money unification for St Paddys 09.
If Duddy fights Pavlik, hill basically be getting thrown into the wolves. His not ready. I hope his promotional team is smarter than that.
I like Duddy a lot but a good big man will always beat a good little man and Pavlik really is a light heavyweight fighting among the middleweights, he is just too powerful for the gutty Duddy. It's gonna be a fun war with Kelly winning in 6:bbb
Duddy has faster hands then Pavlik but thats about it in ever way he is out classed:deal I think Duddy people want cash in on him now while hot because the truth is while a good fighter Duddy just cuts to easy and might lose to a club fighter before he gets a title shot the way things are going with getting cut up of late:think
i respectfully beg to differ. i think kelly is extremely smart in the ring, and his defense is better than people think. he's not just a one-dimensional slugger. did you notice he deftly turned the tide and began to out-jab taylor? don't just peg him as power and nothing else. he's pretty crafty.
Right you are , and just think of the crowds...Some will travel, again, I'm certain, from Ohio, and Pavlik also is well known in Atlantic City, and Duddy has a big following of supporters in NY...BIG crowd:good
I agree with your point about this tossing Duddy to the wolves...it seems like a bit of a cash-out move to me. Pavlik's defense is very underrated- he blocked many more shots from Taylor than was given credit for, and the difference in handspeed between Jermain and Duddy is like night and day. I think Pavlik would stop JD in brutal fashion. I don't dislike Duddy- John's an exciting fighter, but Pavlik is the wrong kind of matchup for him.
