Even if every single unfortunate event has been true to the word, team Pavlik have handled the situation in a totally ****ish manner, completely an utterly disrespectful to Williams and HBO.

good post man. i was surprised, and a little annoyed, to hear pavlik rescheduled so soon but yeah, **** that ****. williams is the most dangerous opponent by far he can face and he likely didn't realize how soon the recovery would be. that aside, he should have a tune up for someone as dangerous as paul

this board...and boxing in general...is much more fun when your not bitter and hating all the time. i'm not gettin on ya about it b/c i really don't care but every one of your posts is pav hate related. "yeah man, i'm with this espino guy now"... lord...go root for someone you like and not against someone you hate. it works better that way.

a little strong but a point can be made that pavlik didn't handle things perfectly. i'm not as versed on the ins and outs of boxing of say booradley but it just seems like a lot of stringing along and not enough clear answers. i get why he did things just don't like how he did them

This is the main reason alot of hate toward Pavlik camp. They are complete amateurs and it shows from the trainer to the co-managers he has. Guy needed to leave Youngstown and all the people associated with it in the dust if he wanted to get to the next level. Like I said, he was lucky to get out of the first Taylor fight without being TKO'd, and was fortunate to be the first guy to expose Taylors stamina vs a good puncher in the second fight. Outside of that, the guy has done nothing and is a very basic boxer with a good chin and punch. As BHOP told him, hes got nothing vs. "slick black boxers". Im sure that statement after the BHOP loss resonated in his ears after he signed to fight Williams. And Im sick of the excuse that Pavlik was sick for the BHOP fight. If his team is that amateur that they let him fight sick, their fault. Fighters lose fights and aren't that great due to their teams, which is all part of boxing. His team was not better then BHOP's on that night therefore he lost. Retire, give up your belt, get your health in order and then come back and fight some real opponents instead of trying to live off the Taylor victories.

I think it was to show his hand was ready with the two extra weeks. This fight is being put together on very short notice so the names available were probably pretty short, but have it in Youngstown, sell out, make some Christmas money. Looks like they couldn't even get the arena downtown where he fought Rubio so they have to hold it at the university facility. Probably a thousand or so less seats.

What is this supposed to show? All I see is sun burn. When you're as pale as a ghost, you must remember to be careful in the sun.

Seriously though, injury or no injury, Pav's stock has plummeted and he needs to fight against someone like Williams to rescusitate his career. Until he does, he's a one hit wonder.

I agree with those who say his camp handled things in an amateurish way. But I do think the injury is legit and all the on again off again bull**** stems from that. I hope his people just want to do what's best for their fighter, even if their handling of the matter has been far less than ideal. So, once he is cleared to train, he lines up a fight.....probably just to stay busy and not lose any more time. I also hope it's not a case of delay tactics. PTP is a force and to go into a fight against him in a compromised state is unwise, but, either way, hopefully after this Pavlik will finally fight PTP. If he does, win or lose, this whole episode will become a side note.
