well...basing from the few clips shown by 24/7 it looks to me that Cotto's camp is the least bit worried about the weight since what they all seem to do is EAT!!!

i think everyone is in agreement that the 145 "weight drain" effect on Cotto is insignificant but will only serve as a blemish to PAC's victory should he come out on top

I see the t/s point. The whole 145 catchweight was specifically designed to suit Manny's optimum comfort while it maintaining a "welterweight" fight. Technically it is a welterweight fight but these friggin catchweights have to GO if they continue to be used in this manner. Catchweights are for fighters of 2 different divisions to meet on an even playing field, and this ain't the case. For this reason you have to applaud Cotto- now I don't think the weigh-in will have any significance in the fight but he still deserves some respect for that.

Manny's optimum comfort would be 141, he looked great at 140 and weighed at 138 so 141 would be his optimum "WW" limit weight. He asked for 143 and was denied. Cotto's optimum weight is 146, thast what he weighed at last time...hes dropping to 145. So Pac jumps 7lbs from 138, 4lbs from his optimum WW limit and Cotto drops 1lbs from his last fight and he's at disadvantage? lol. 145 were Cotto's terms, not Manny's. Manny wanted 143, Cotto's team decided they would still maintain their performance dropping 1lbs from their last fight. Pac's team reluctantly agreed to the 145.

Both fighters deserves credit just for agreeing to fight. Both prime with equal chances of beating each other. No weight excuses please.

This is still considered a WW fight. They would have to be fighting at or below 140 for it to be jr WW. they wouldn't be able to fight for the title if it was not within WW.

Cotto will be affected by the weight loss imo. He's been at ww for almost 3 years, and has had 8 fights. He weighs as much as 170 between fights. Pac knew what he was doing when he picked Cotto. Cotto's been in tough fights. If Pac beats Cotto and does not fight Floyd next, Dapidran will be seen by me as a cherry picking ***** forever in my book.
