all signs point to pavlik ducking williams! he cancels the fight twice and says they want to give the hand time to heal and they go and schedule a fight 2 weeks from the date they said they wont be ready on? this is really confusing.what the **** is the deal?

The part you're missing. The Dr. told him, before camp even started, that he should have full range of motion in his hand by the time camp starts. His body did not cooperate. If it was up to him, he'd still be fighting Dec 5th.

    my point is

dec 5th = impossible to clinch fist
dec 19th = full range capabilities

its totally inconsistent...either pavlik is going to fight dec 19th with 1 hand... literally... or he is one of the most unprofessional people in boxing... either way he should have NEVER EVER gotten involved with this situation to begin with.. THATS MY POINT!

its called being professional... nothing more nothing less

Didn't they want Williams to wait around for just a couple of more weeks though? I don't think he's necessarily ducking him. I think he was unprofessional and hopeful in scheduling the fight in the first place when chances are he wasn't going to be ready and he was actually injured at the time, and then Williams rightly didn't want to bank on Pavlik making a date for a 3rd time and looked elsewhere.

That's what I read. But I can't blame the Williams camp for not waiting any longer. They waited long enough and there were/are still no guarantees that he'll make the Dec 19th fight. His hand will be suspect until he proves otherwise. I do think that the quick scheduling of the new bout with Espino is just a way to the guy back in the ring and ready to compete again. I hear he's fighting in a tiny venue and making something ridiculous( for him) like 500k. Is this true?

If Kelly is being straight, he needs to step up, speak out and GUARANTEE he will pursue a Paul Williams match in the first quarter of 2010.

Thus far Abraham, Mora and Williams have slipped through Kelly's fingers.
