Why no high altitude training for Cotto?

Stamina is one of Pacs best attributes and its one one of Cottos lesser.
I would have thought going up against Pac they would have done some seroius stamina work in high altitude.

Yet they were in Florida at sea level?

    Thoughts?:think

I can only speak on what has been shown to us but i havnt been impressed with cottos training, hopefully though, like in other fights besides one, his stamina wont play the deciding factor in this fight. Hes usually composed enough and conditioned enough to impose himself down the stretch. But ya that would probably have been a good idea.

You know not all fighters train in high altitudes.

Some do it because they feel it helps their stamina.

Look at Floyd Mayweather Jr, he doesn't train in high altitude. And he is one of the best conditioned fighters out their.

Well, I think we can be assured it isn't because he is afraid of heights.

i share your skepticism. my knowledge on this subject may not be the broughtest and mainly consists of 24/7-facts, but cotto's whole crew seems to consist of yes men and people looking up to him.

    i hope i'm wrong..

I think that would better describe Pacs much larger entourage. Cotto's people seem to be mostly family and a few well trusted people. Less distractions in the Cotto campt too. Although, Pac seems to thrive on doing late night shows etc. this is a fight that might have required greater discipline.

I do not think we can read to much into 24/7's coverage, Cotto looks very fit and ready. Pac looks like a Bruce Lee caricature, cut beyond belief.

I guess we shall find out who is best prtepared on Saturday night. I cannot wait.

Neither does PW. And we all know he has just about the best stamina of anyone right now.

Great point plus PW up to recen fights have been training in Puerto Rico too so I agree with you. I think that overall we will see a much improve in stamina from Cotto and the main reason is the 12 weeks of hard training and the 130 rounds he has under his belt training for this fight.

Cotto's been training alot longer than Pac for this fight... I don't think stamina will be an issue.
