No he's not, Lennox Lewis takes that title with ease. I like him but he just can't do it.

Stewart is the worst.. He's annoying and is the reason I watch most of my hbo fights on mute..

I like Merchant, but he is past it... I also like Max.. I like his energy and I think he asks question I want to hear, and if the fighter does'nt answer the question and starts to do a commercial, Max steps in and asks again or asks something else.

Sure he messes up. They all do. I've heard Merchant say some stupid things also.

That might explain why hes so nervous since hes been on hbo. He might be out of his comfort zone and its not allowing him to be as good as he was when he was on espn. He has changed for the worst but hes still not as bad as so many others including the much loved larry merchant. I cant believe so many people like him but to each his own i guess:hi:

You got that right, T-s. Back in the day, Larry was the smallest but most ferocious linebacker in NY. Got a scholarship to Oklahoma, the biggest football powerhouse in the nation.

How could mayweather say or show anything when he wasnt allowed to speak? Youre response completely missed the point of my comment just so you can get to what youre chomping at the bit to do- talk about how much you hate Mayweather.

  7. Good post except Lampley is a better presentator than commentator. He brings prestige and class to the sport. Whats he's given to the sports image over the years has been priceless. (after the tysons destructive era) He's politically corrext when it comes to opinions and throwing out stats and has a good philosophy when it comes to fighting.

Max is definitely missing something in his understanding of fighting. I think he needs to pay more respect to the guys who have been there, the cocky butt ins with facts and stats over wise rants of merchant and others gets very repulsive. Thats something lampley knows better not to do.

when I watch people interviewing fighter I want to hear the fighter talk. ask a question, get an answer. rinse, repeat.

not drone on for a ****ing hour about the history of the situation and ****ing over Marquez on his interview.

When Max is good, he's pretty good. He can be insightful and passionate.

When he's bad, though -- like if he's nuthugging on a Zab Judah or talking about how Chris Eubank supposedly knocked Calzaghe down -- he's f*cking brutal.

Just depends which Max shows up.

He's the Michael Cole of the boxing world.

I'm expecting him one day to say "That's vintage Floyd Mayweather."

it's cool to hate the guy, i personally don't follow trends, and most the people on this website are complete tools.

I told Max, live on the air, that he was a very nice closed minded person.

I like him. He's definitely not the BEST commentator, but some of the stuff he says is just priceless... cracks me up!!! So yeah, I'm not laughing with him, I'm laughing at him, but that's ok, it keeps the commentary interesting.

Merchant, on the other hand, cracks me up as well, and for the same reasons, because I'm laughing AT him. It just takes him three times as long to get a sentence out these days.

    You know...

It's kinda like listening to your drunk uncle at the family picnic. Hilarious!!
