It wouldn't matter because Paul Williams has an unbelievable chin. I think he can take Middleweight punches pretty well and I don't think Margarito punches as hard as middleweights.
Yes. Margo came on strong the second half of the fight as the plaster hardened and Williams still beat him.
:good yep thats when the plaster starts to harden, PWill's got soooo much heart man. Outworked a worker, just beat him at his own game and took flush concrete all the way
The only thing I remember Paul saying about Margo's punching power is that he (Margo) is a 10 just like him (Williams) in the punching power department. Maybe Williams handwraps should be checked more closely :think joking about the checking William's gloves part :good
NO! He said for a fact he knew Marg didnt have loaded gloves in their fight b/c Marg never hurt him. His words exactly.
Interesting comments since he believes if he had inserts that would make the difference between hurting him or not.
Very good question. Here is what I know as a fact: Back then, Margarito pushed Cotto to the side by choosing to fight Williams first. He thought Williams was an easier fight and that he could fight Cotto after Williams and make more money. But he was wrong!!!! He called Cotto after that fight and Cotto told him he wasn't interested now that Tony wasn't a champion and just lost a fight. Margarito had lost a big chance. NOW THIS IS MY OPINION: MARGARITO STARTED USING THE PLASTER RIGHT AFTER THIS FIGHT. HE WAS DESPERATE TO GET BACK TO THE TOP AND MAKE SOME MONEY
If we say Margarito used it for cotto then it goes without saying he must have used it for William and Cintron. The difference is William is better than both.
Marga started landing at the end and williams was backing off last 3 rds.Im sure he was feeilngs the bricks.I dont have a doubt he's been plastering his hands for a long time.If the fights goes 2 more rds he could have won by KO
