Lesnar's size alone isnt a big deal, its his other attributes combined that make him an interesting opponent for anyone. Fedor has fought some huge guys before so that alone wouldnt present him with anything he hasnt seen before. The size plus quickness of Lesnar might surprise him at times but I still see Fedor getting the win.
This is the heavyweight fight that I would be interested in most. Fedor is way more well rounded obviously but if Lesnar is capable of putting Fedor in a bad spot and pounding his face in then the fight could be over. It would be very interesting to see if Fedor could stop Lesnar before getting put into a bad spot and if Lesnar could take Fedor down before being stopped.
Lesar is big and strong but he is good. This is why he is the champ. If he was **** Mir, Couture and probably Herring would beat him. He is a good big man. That's the intrigue.
Never said he was ****. But people get far to hung up on size and wrestling. In terms of what is likley to happen Fedor is as likley to spark out Lesnar on his feet as any out come infact I think that is more likley than Lesnar "mauling" Fedor. I also think Brocks clinch is not really as good as people think, if Fedor can work a throw from the clinch or something or a throw from anything and end up on top Lesnar will get brutalised or RNC when he tries to get up. Lesnars outside shot is good but the only guy he fought with any sort of TD managed to stay up right or at least get taken down and not put in dodgy positions in couture. Still very hard to get away from if he grabs on due to his mass and speed Not saying that Lesnar doesn't have a shot, but I hear all sorts of interveiws with UFC fighters/commentators going on about Lesnar mauling Fedor against the cage. Lesnar is not going to be throwing punches at Fedor when he is upclose and he is not going to control Fedor like a rag doll like he did Mir. Mir offensivly from the guard shuts down when he takes punishment. I just can't see it getting properlly hurt and stopped or mauled for extended periods, I can see Fedor geting elbowed and stopped by a cut, and indeed taking punishment before that. But Fedor on the bottom not switching his hips out and removing Lesnars arm if Lesnar takes him down would be surprising at some point.
I think Lesner losses if the fight stays standing up, or if it's on the ground. I've seen enough of Fedor's fights to know that if the fight is on the ground, it's not necessarly going to favour Brock, cause Fedor's a master at putting submissions on fighters like Brock, who would likely lack the experience to avoid them. But beyound a doubt, Brock's best option is to get on top of Fedor and pound and ground him into submission, it's just not an easy thing to do.
Why can't they have some informed people discuss this. Don't people get zuffa is an mma promotion. They lie. Who they call good rarely is. IF they are, why do new signees have so much success against their so called greats?
Lesnar might be able to smother Fedor with his weight and size and work from there. But if he gives Fedor any space to do his thing it can be over very quickly.
