Ok Taylor got stupid and lost, so be it. But who knows if he takes this lose a learning experience and be a changed fighter next time, then lots of Jermaine fans will be glad. But if we see he does the same thing again, then he really is a chump!

I agree that Taylor should have won the fight based on the style difference. He simply did the wrong thing again by letting the other guy push him to the ropes and take him out (and not listening to manny). He did his best, but he has a bit of training to do me thinks.

Well put, hotti killster ( Hotti_killer)...Not only that, but Larry Merchant was right, the only thing was that 1 man was able to get up, and one was not. Taylor's pretty quick, and has explosive punches...He fough better, and was in better shape for this fight, it seems , than his previous ones. Both of em can take a punch, but when a flurry onslaught like in rd 2, and then 7 = no one can stand up against that :yep

C'mon he got caught by Pavliks right hand and lost one fight. It happens. He still is a very good, technical fighter who has a good chance to beat anyone at MW.

Exactly. It's not his fault he wasn't as good as the HBO hype made him out to be, or that they got him all those gift decisions.

Taylor was, in many ways, as much of a victim of HBOs corruption as the sport itself. Thankfully, their charade is over - for crap like that is RUINING boxing.

Im am glad thet HE got KTFO .. i've watched the fight 13 time and replayed the o about 30 times.. i can't get enough of it on the 1:00 minute mark he gets hit by a big right hand that stuns him then at the 56 second mark another big right that stunns and sends him to the corner then a barrage of punches put him away.

by the way IF TYALOR HAD WON ALL THE TAYOR FANS WOULD BE SINGING HIS PRAISES ANDT WE WOULDN'T HEAR THE END OF IT

    SO SO LONG TAYLOR

He came within precious seconds of victory and fought with the intent to win. The quality of both men made a great fight, Pavlik fought smarter, and had the better POWER.:good

New Chamion, hope they do a rematch at 68:yep

The purpose of my original post was to express my thoughts on how I saw the fight, rile up a litlle controversy because - let's face it - controversy evokes interest and discussion.

If I was Jermain Taylor and I reviewed my efforts this past Saturday and previous fights I would feel like a chump - because whilst Taylor lost to the better man - he really should have won - end of as we sayin th UK. Taylor's unwillingness or inability to address his own obvious stamina/conditioning flaws is why he lost - period. So taylor is a chump for that, as far as I am concerned. I never said the man was a bum or incapable or anything like that. And for the record I would tell him to his face. The fact that this is a forum means that I have posted my opinions via keyboard - this does not make me a coward. Maybe an opinionated ******* but not a coward!!

And I can talk the talk because I have walked the walk. And a special shout to Hotti-killer and any one else who feels incensed by my comments. That was the purpose of my post - fools! And yeah I know I'm a coward, blah blah blah... my email's widely available - if you're that concerned step up to the plate or shut up.

    Don't hate the messenger.....hate the game!:bart

Fighting B-Hop twice, Winky, Ouma, Joppy when Taylor was still pretty green, and Pavlik means he has balls and should be RESPECTED as a fighter for daring to be great. He came up just short in his last fight but the man should be given credit. He is still a B+ to A- level fighter.

His first fight with Hopkins was good (he won I would LOVE to see your scorecard for that fight). The Winky fight was very good and you could argue a draw for him I would have to see it again but I scored 6 rounds for Taylor the first time and 5 rounds for him the 2nd time but you could have gave him rounds for his punches landing with more authority and even when they hit Winks gloves they knocked his head back, stinging him. His fight with Pavlik was possibly FOTY and he had Pav down and all over the ring on ***** street tying Taylor up for about a minute after Kelly got back up. So you calling this "Ruining boxing" when all the fights before Pavilk any un biased person could legitly have Taylor WINNING every fight he has been in or giving him a draw against Winky which was FAIR.

You trash him every chance you get and it is quite pathetic, the judges scorecards for the Pav fight were bull**** I had it 3-3 going into the 7th so Taylor was up by 1 point, but that is not Jermain's fault. So get off his ****ing case because if all boxers had the nuts to take the level of competation he takes then all divisions would have 1 true champion.

Zakman...your dislike for Taylor is kind of creepy in an obsessive kind of way. You are one sad individual.

What I dislike is the CORRUPTION that lead to his acquiring and retaining the middleweight title. If you read my post above, you would understand I have nothing against Taylor as an individual. What I am outraged about - and what boxing fans in general SHOULD be outraged about - are the GIFT DECISIONS that HBO got Taylor, and the screw-jobs they gave to Hopkins and Wright. :fire

They would have screwed Pavlik, too, if he didn't take it out of their hands and knock HBOs poster-boy the F*UCK out! :yep
