Pacquiao is something else, we all knew he could blast people out and fight the perfect fight, but did we know he could take a 147lbs'ers punch and walk right through them like nothing? Pacquiao is a BEAST my friends, a ****ing fighting machine. Cotto deserves all the respect, he could of finished the fight, and he had it in him to finish the fight... Cotto is one bad customer for anyone, and he'll have to fight the winner of Berto - Mosley if Pacquiao gets a date with Mayweather. :happy
Same here I picked Cotto to win. My assessment was based on the fact that Pacquaio fought a dehydrated DLH, a Ricky Hatton who was allow to escape KO by being allowed to tie his shoe (Lazcano fight), and the fact that Diaz was a relatively a weak champion. I was some what doubtful that he would farewell against a natural WW. It seemed last night during the early rounds that Cotto would make it much closer and possibly win. But WOW, pacquaio has some wicked speed, and his punches just come from all different angles. He is definitely an ATG, a showdown with Mayweather looms, but I think at this point Mayweather needs Pacquaio more than Pacquaio needs him.
Me too I picked Cotto and give full credit to Pac for the win, Cotto fought very well early but one punch has the tendency to make you revert to your old ways, Cotto abandoned the jab once he started to get hit and became a stationery target for Pac. Cottos defense is not great and Pac speed and combination's proved to be too much, Pacquiao was really impressive with his performance he said to the non believers 'Hatton and DLH where no Fluke'. Im eating my Crow this morning and feel bad for Cotto but hey that's boxing Hopefully Cotto can patch things up get a proper trainer to pick out his flaws and try to tighten them up and he can continue to be competitive in the welterweight division, Im pretty sure Cotto will become a champ once more. Pacquiao now moves closer to a clash with Mayweather this fight should be interesting because of the styles difference i expect Pac to have a way tougher task ahead of him due to the way Floyd fights But after last night no one can doubt Manny and his skills He is a superb fighter and an ATG.
I picked cotto but what a joy to watch Pacman is. The speed and angles he throws punches from is something else. Miguel Cotto is a top fighter who got destroyed by an ATG. Not only does Pacquiao punch and move fast he thinks fast as well. He makes little adjustments when needed.
Cotto has nothing to be ashamed of losing to PAC....same as everyone else..Barrera, Morales, JMM, DLH, Hatton and the rest....Pac is just a more superior fighter than them...no shame in losing to a better fighter
I'm still in awe over this fight. Pacquiao is truly in ATG in my book. No excuses here. I picked Cotto to win and I thought he was fighting the right fight at first. But who would have thought that Pacquiao would stand and trade with the Puerto Rican Bomber? Not only that, he used the rope a dope against a devastating body puncher. Not only did Pacquiao weather that storm, he came roaring back. Bert Sugar called rounds 2, 3, and 4 a throw back to Hagler vs Hearns, and I couldn't agree more. This was not a shot Cotto or a dehydrated one. This was Cotto fighting his heart out and he got beat fair and square by an ATG. To put it bluntly, Cotto went out on his shield and this is one boxing fan who will always consider Miguel Cotto one of my favorite fighters. You can look at Pacquiao after the fight and tell he was in a war. He took some hard shots and admitted later on that they hurt a lot, but he kept his cool, never showed he was in pain or hurt, and kept going. Pacquiao is truly one of a kind. Nothing but respect and admiration for Pac Man. Now, I feel Cotto should just take some time off, maybe a year if need be. It was obvious that his wet behind the ears, green corner cannot handle training Cotto for such level of competition. I feel Cotto needs to hook up with a world class trainer, like an Emanuel Steward, to help point out his flaws and work on improving his defense. Now the world waits to see if a Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight can be made. And they say boxing is dying: *cough* Bull****! *cough*
Yeah I picked cotto too...and i never sat and watched a fight and felt more like a ****ing ******.....never again.!!! his angles power and chin are something else... Pac man is an undisputable all time great!!! He gets mad respect from me now on!!
Yeah i picked Cotto too and i just couldnt believe the shots that Manny was taking in those first five rounds. I honestly didnt think that Manny could just stand there and trade but i was wrong... Cotto didnt disgrace himself last night, he can still recover with fights against Mosley and Margarito but Manny Pacquiao is on a different level to other fighters at the moment, and that INCLUDES Floyd Mayweather. Stunning performance :good
In the whole run up to the fight I fancied Cotto to win. I went with the discrediting DLH and Hatton angle. Now Pacquiao has done it again, I'm thinking that Manny really is all that.
I am also stunned. I picked Cotto largely on the grounds that Pacquiao wouldn't be able to replicate the strength of a natural Welterweight. Not only did he replicate it: he exceeded it. Beating a naturally much bigger man is one thing; lots of sufficiently skillful fighters can do it. But to do it by walking all over the guy strength-wise is just another level. This has got to be one of the most decisive wins of our generation.
Yeah, there's no more need for finding excuses for their losses, Pac is simply the superior fighter and there is no shame in losing to a greater fighter.
Teddy Atlas tried to tell all of you that Cotto was damaged goods and you didn't believe him. If you picked Cotto, it shows you don't know how to analyzes fights. Cotto is a very limited fighter. He doesn't have a chin whatsoever. When he gets hit hard he folds. I keep hearing people say Cotto is a warrior. No he's not!! JMM is a worried, he takes Pacman's shots and keeps coming with will and determination, he never quits. Cotto quit in about the 9th round, he turned tail and started running against a smaller fighter that he was supposed to be bigger and stronger than.
