the guy has fought everyone he can fight. except for mayweather. no other ****ing WW has the resume or guts to face the people he has. from margarito to mosley to clottey to pac. sure he lost twice but at least he took the ****ing fights. in times when all we can do is dream about possible match ups this man actually fought the top guys. hate him or not you guys gotta show some ****ing respect.
I have become a fan of Cotto's since the Tony fight...I think Miguel is awesome for the sport and he has made me a fan...Pac was impressive and no shame in losing to the best fighter in the world
Judah has fought Tszyu, Spinks, Mayweather, Cotto, and Clottey. He gets shitted on all the time. You should praise guys for winning big fights. These guys are supposed to fight the best out there.
Pac haters and others on ESB were all over Cotto's nuts prior to this fight. U kiddin' me? I saw like 4 polls, and more people picked Cotto in every one! No respect? Here we go with this retrospective look at Manny's opponents...
im not saying anything bad about pacs resume he has an AMAZING RESUME. but it seems like people are quick to forget that actually actually fought the best also.
The guy has my respect. He never ducked anyone and fought the best. He has a couple of losses but that's what happens when you fight the top guys. As for Mayweather - It's easy to look good and keep your 0 when you're fighting guys 2 weight divisions below you, and ducking the top welterweights in your own division.
sorry its hard for me to give Cotto too much credit here. I just feel he completely threw out his gameplan, had no one in his corner to reinforce it either. He got knocked down the first time and felt he needed to get agressive to avenge it...stupid move...I mean, I can't give him too much credit. Manny though was sharp as a razor.
its not even about his gameplan...its the fact that he actually got in the ring with the best fighters in his division. gave what he could.
I became a Cotto fan when he fought Malinaggi. That was a great fight, and it made me sit up and take notice. I started to believe Pac was something special in the 3rd Morales fight. These two guys both deserve massive respect from all boxing fans. The reason both have losses is that they do not shy away from the big challenges. Hearns lost some fights. Haglar lost some fights. Arguello lost some. George Foreman lost some fights, Ali lost some, Hopkins has losses, et, et. Now days when a fighter loses we always get a boat load of ******s heaping **** on the guy. History shows that those who make a real effort to fight the best will lose a few. Those who do not understand that do not deserve to call themselves boxing fans.
I agree with you, Boo and the thread starter. I'll take a guts and glory guy with a few battle scars and a few losses on his resume over guys that cherry pick and place higher value on their "0" than on going into battle against top opposition.
He should be praised for wanting to fight the best and so should Judah. It takes guts to sign a contract knowing the guy you're fighting can beat you.
And in what way is he not an elite fighter? Because he got a thorough beating. So this must mean the JMM isnt an elite fighter either because he got outclassed by Mayweather. **** off.
