I still feel pretty much the same way about Cotto now as I did before the fight. Props to Cotto for help makeing yesterday a great night of boxing.

  5. Yeah, I agree. He has nothing to be ashamed of. Manny is a great great fighter. This fight was just what boxing needed. Props to Miguel for fighting so gallantly. Nothing but love and respect for the man.

I'm a Filipino Pac fan and I say Cotto is a great fighter. He lost to a better fighter and there is no shame in that. I tell you right now, if Cotto were to visit the Philippines, he would be mobbed by boxing fans everywhere. The class he showed throughout the training, pre-fight and fight is something Filipinos admire. Eric Morales was the same way. He couldn't go anywhere without a crowd forming and wanting autographs and pictures taken.

Cotto is a true gentleman and gets much respect from me (another Pinoy Pac fan). I wish him nothing but the best.

As for some of his trash-talking countrymen who have gone into hiding, that's a different story.

Same, he looked good early on but was caught at times when he lost his cool, nothing to be ashamed of.

Agreed. I doubt any true supporters/fans of his will jump ship just because of a loss. It happens (losing)... one thing with Miguel you can rely on is that he comes to fight and put on a good show.

I think after this loss, he should take some time off and regroup and come back strong. In order to come back strong though, i think he should asses the current team he is with, training regimen, and make necessary changes.

Good for you guys. Aside from his conduct inside the ring, he seems like a genuinely cool guy.

It's not looking good for Puerto Rican boxing right now. Cotto's career is in trouble, JuanMa may not be what people thought he was, and Calderon is not an exciting fighter and fights in a division that gets little attention. Hell, even Santos got beat up and almost knocked out by a runner with little power. The good news is that things can change in a hury.
