I been screaming this **** for years.... Floyd needs to man the **** up and get in there with P.... He could very well win, but he needs to prove it.
He's a welterweight... who can't get any of the beltholders to fight him. So he is forced to move up and fight those who are willing. But he can make the weight.... easily.
Funny thing is: PW can probably make 145 easier than Cotto. Against Matthysse, Margarito and the Quintana rematch, he came in at 145. He literally eat himself up to MW for the Kolle and Winky fights and still weighed in at 157. I'm also certain that Cotto weighs more on fight night for WW fights than Williams. PDub is an absolute freak. He'd have an absolutely ridiculous 15" reach advantage over Pacquiao. He's a terrible nightmare for any WW including the small sized Pac because PW fights very awkward, catches you from distance you'd never expect, throws about 1000 punches per fight with speed and can mix it up well. I wouldn't predict for this fight, because it'd all come down who would deal with the other fighter's style better. One thing I'd say for sure: Williams wouldn't have a physical (strength) advantage, dispite the huge difference in height. He's just not a physical fighter. He's a very tall and awkward volume fighter with power if puts body weight behind shots, but he rarely does that. He does this more: This content is protected
I would love to see this fight! A great as Paul is, he is not a shoe in here against Pacquiao, who has some serious power at WW and incredible hand and foot speed.
PWill by slaughter, Manny would literally look like a midget in his presence. 6'3" vs 5'7" lets fight right?
And stamina, and the ability to take a punch if a few happen to get through... And with the workrate to be able to take rounds... but you're right... size matters tremendously.
paul williams is too big, and theres no question about that. lets not forget, cotto didnt start his career as a welterweight. thats not subtracting from pacs win at all, but paul williams is a giant with serious power and athletic skills.
