duran was a lightweight for 10 years with 1 loss as far as i know, to de jesus, then beat him twice more to vacate up to welterweight , im saying he took on bigger challangers from some of the best people in those divisions in the history of boxing

haha idiot, I said IF you're going to count Palomino, then you can count ODLH. Which you know, but you're acting like you don't. And I don't know why, because right there it is a few posts up on this same page.

If you think Buchanan = MAB, JMM or EM, you = idiot. He doesn't even equal Cotto.

And I'm saying if you really believe that, you're dumb as a box of rocks. Palomino is Duran's best win at LW. An old, washed up Palomino. Manny's resume is MUCH deeper below WW.

Hahaha, I noticed how you glossed over my post above that!!!

And this argument isn't about Pac, I love Pac and rank him no.22 on my all time list...it's more about how dramatically you underrate Duran, and the naivety you show when comparing their resumes and acheivements.

Considering the way Pac has jumped from 106 to 147 is a historic accomplishment,on a pfp talk id put him over Hearns,Hagler and a little below Duran,Leonard. However in a welter match Id take Hearns by brutal ko,but he would give Leonard and Duran competetive fight. Hed probably give Duran a better one since they are somewhat similar in size.

well then you can scratch that off as well, I guess his best win at LW was De Jesus. Forgive me for not running to boxrec for every post.

Since when am i biased? Ask other posters if they think i am and if they deem me biased then i'm happy to accept that. I'm one of the posters that was glad to say Pac would be competetive against a lightweight Duran in the Classic forum. I'm a massive Pacquiao fan and Mayweather. I'm just a boxing fan so enough of the biased talk to sway an advantage.

Since when is Ken Buchanan at lightweight not a top drawer win comparable to Barrera, Morales or Marquez? You'll find i didn;t say Dejesus was as good as them. Dejesus is a quality win, borderline great on paper, and you only need to see the man fight to realise it's a top win, better than a Diaz for instance.

I think in perspective that Oscar is a better win for Pac than what it is written off as by most, because people forget that at the time it was considered risky. But you'll find if you go through my posting history that I've always been a detractor of Oscar De La Hoya's, in terms of what he's made out to be that is.

Like i said, you can compare the resumes, but you're chatting that Duran's doesn't approach Pacquiao's. You'll find i'm far more level headed than you here.

Duran has one of the most solid contenders for best win ever on his resume. That combined with the massive stack he has underneath it is huge, gigantic. Pacquiao doesn't have a win that approaches that.

If you want to split hairs by comparing abililty in the ring then go ahead. One winner only.

You've got me looking like i'm detracting from Pacquiao and it's jsut not the case. Pac is likely one of the greatest fighters of all time. Just that you're going too far here imo.

That means nothing when you look at the people Ray, Hearns and Duran has fought...Resumes come into play and they fought way better comp. than Pac has.

Palomino was a great WW and never fought at LW....you don't need Boxrec for that.

I'm gonna leave now as I thought you were going to throw up a decent argument but have proven yourself of limited knowledge with that one!!!

Maybe try again in a few years.:good

Ok. List all the ATG's Duran has fought and beaten, then I'll list Pac's.

I can't even be bothered getting into the whole breakdown of the Leonard fighting the wrong fight myth.

The fact that you (Bernie) think that Leonard outscored Duran is comical.

Pac is not as good as duran, Hearns, Leonard etc, however he is a good fiter in a poorer era...by the way he will lose to PBF then everyone will say the same bout PBF this kinda thing should stop period
