How can you make such a statement? Do you speak directly with Mr Manny? Floyd just simply asked for confirmation that he wants to fight him. He hears all the BS from Roach and Arum and how big the fight could be and how bad he will beat Mayweather, and Manny never seems to acknowlegde anything? Whats wrong with the fighter speaking up for himself and saying what HE believes? It does get a little annoying to hear those guys speak for him like hes some piece of meat. Time is ticking, tick...tick.... no statement yet. Maybe his handlers need to instruct him to make an official statement?

Who is Mayweather? Mayweather is the guy Pac fans were calling for Pac to fight after Pac beat Cotto.

Why should Pac call him out? Pac claims he's all about the fans. If his fans want him to fight Mayweather, why not be assertive in your desire to fight him? Not that I agree that Pac needs to call anyone out, just playing Devil's Advocate.

What statement? Manny has already stated in the past he wants to face Floyd but doesn't think Floyd really wants to face him. He doesn't need to state something Floyd wants to hear over again.

Manny is a humble guy....all the disrespect Floyd spews Manny's way and Manny never returns the insults....B/C at the end of the day Manny respects floyds ability. There is nothing wrong with a fighter speaking up on his own behalf....BUT...Why when asked the same question after his win over JMM about facing Manny Floyd didn't answer the question?

It's about winning fights before the actual fight. Mind games..mental warfare. See. Floyd is in a situation where he knows Pac is holding more wild cards than he. And he wants PAC to express the "NEED" to fight "Money Mayweather" when PAC don't need Floyd...I'm sure he wants to face him because PAC's track record is one that proves he seeks the toughest of challenges and Floyd presents that.

Floyd on the other hand seems to look for low risk, high reward fights as his track records proves.. I think Floyd needs to ask for the fight and Manny would respond like a gentelman.

I think you're right. This thread was somewhat of a joke to see what kind of responses would be thrown out there, but its definitely part of the mental warfare. I think as someone said, Mayweather is knowledgeable enough about the business side of things to see what kind of numbers the Cotto fight did, and then start the negotiations. This is simply posturing until the number is out. Its going to happen and its going to be a 50/50 split, because thats fair, and theres enough money on the table for both fighters if they do in fact want the fight. Mayweather can restore instant credibility to his legacy by a dominating win, and I think that is weighing on his mind lately just as much as the money factor. I think he will make concessions in that I think he will be more fair to make it happen for that reason.

Because it has been over 24hours there's no official statement, the man just won and deserves to celebrate, rest and enjoy his victory. I'm not expecting any statement till AT LEAST two months. Mayweather had no statements about his next opponent after Marquez either.

The question is, why no statement after Shane called him out? It's only been what, 2 months or so?

    24 hours...this forum.

Manny made his statement this past Saturday in the ring by beating a top WW something Floyd has yet to do in his career.

Believe me, if he did this, he will get more **** than he's received. And this will come from everyone, not just ESB posters.

When did you ever hear Pacquiao call out anybody? He lets his people to do it. Pacquiao's team is calling Mayweather out! Pacquiao's team called out Hatton/Diaz/Marquez... etc. Mayweather is just making an excuse.

Mayweather and Pacquiao need each other equally, or don't need each other equally, however you wanna look at it. They both have their own legacies.

The bottom line, they both gain from fighting each other. Win or lose.
