This is IMO a real good stepping stone to bring back the popularity and excitement to the boxing world and to the general public...a missed opportunity would probably mean we have to wait and hope for another mega fight like this for a long time.

This will decide who the best boxer of the last 20 years is. This is a prime meeting of 2 all time greats. A win for either boxer puts them into a whole other level. This will have everyone in the WORLD talking about boxing. You cannot pass that up. No more hype is even needed.

Its not that it will damage the sport if this fight isn't made, its that it would help the sport so much if the fight was made. However, Floyd Mayweather will NEVER live it down if he doesn't make this fight happen. On the other hand, if he does agree to this fight, as long as he doesn't make some ridiculous stipulation, he will deserve all the respect in the world.

It will be a disaster. Not only are the hardcore wanthing this but the casual fans are expecting for this fight to happen. If it doesnt happen the sport will lose credibility as people will say "boxing as usual has the best fighters avoiding each other". It does not matter if Pacman or mayweather fought Mosely next as people expect pacman v mayweather.

One thing I will say is dont assume that if the fight doesnt happen its all down to Mayweather.

I think Floyd is the one that will be blamed if the fight does not come off, and i am not saying that this is right. But his record and reputation as a cherry picker will hang heavy over the outcome of negotiations. He will not get the benefit of the doubt here.

people dont actually realise how big this fight is. sometimes I think 12 rounds is just not enough for somthing like this.

these are the two of the most accomplished fighters of the last 20 or so years meeting in the prime at a weight they are both comfortable at. personally I cant see either fighter loosing. everytym I see manni fight I alway say wow this guy seems unbeatable, and the same goes for evertym I see floyd fight.

In other words this is a fantasy match up which will puzzle us forever if it doesnt take place.

If i'm floyd unless they offer 70 30 **** this fight what difference does it make to a fighter who does not care about fans opinion?

im gona kidnap ellerbe and hold him random if floyd refuses to fight. it happened in that van damme movie "kickboxer" except it wasnt his gay cornerman it was his chick.

Im too much of an honest boxing fan to get ****ed over like this after buying so many Floyd PPV's

Not hugely. Pac has shown himself willing to fight anyone, and there other great fights to make. I would love to see Pac against Mosely. If Floyd decides to sit on the sidelines so be it, he's not in a position to hold boxing (or Pacqaio) hostage. As others have said, it would be more damaging to Floyd than to boxing.

If the fight doesnt get made, there will be a lot of good fans done with boxing & it would also lose 1000s upon 1000s of would be fans.

The damage would be huge, unrecoverable for many many years IMHO.
