If David Haye wants to be considered half as good as Lennox Lewis..

Whats with this "step up to the plate" bollocks? After 3 HW contest he is WBA champion of the world, after being king at CW...what more do you want from a man who has had 24 fights?

 

:good I think people forget that he has had only 24 fights.

If, and it is a very big if, he now goes on to beat Ruiz, Valuev (personally hope that rematch doesnt come off), possibly Arreola instead and then both Klits then he could retire a very successful, very rich and very well respected HW champion.

 

Honestly, look at the state Arreola turned up in against Vitali. Vitali: one of the two best HWs in the division, with a fearsome stoppage %, and Arreola comes in looking like that, with absolutely no gameplan.

What has Arreola done to deserve a title fight? Haye's much more proven in his career overall as a world-class fighter, whose best wins are Valuev and Mormeck. Arreola's best win is Jameel McCline.

 

I agree he hasn't earned his shot at Haye yet,especially coming off a defeat but the shape he comes into for fights has OR SHOULDN'T have any bearing on whether or not he gets a shot. I know im repeating myself but he has far better stamina than Haye.

Also Arreola would beat Valuev IMO,too busy for him.

 

Its not a body contest or modelling contest...Haye would win that but in a fight,I think it would go the other way!!!!

It's nothing to do with how he looks, though the excess poundage must diminish his movement. My issue is that he was woefully under-prepared to face a guy with decent movement, a hard jab and a bludgeoning right hand.

There was next to no head movement, no lateral movement, no attempt at bobbing and weaving: it was a pitiful display for a supposed championship contender. That's what I mean by looking so bad - he was like a novice.

Haye's got a long way to go before I even consider him as good as Bruno, never mind Lewis.

 

Good points but I think looking like a novice is more to do with Vitali's abilities than Arreola's lack of.

Hopefully David does not suffer the same and look so bad when he steps up to fight the Brothers.
