i think martinez like many WBO champions is a garabage fighter but for some reason i see him beating burns, i think burns wishes arthur still had that belt instead of martinez

A rematch betwee Burns and Arthur would be interesting, if Arthur could still make the weight. Ricky caught him several times that night with big lefts and having learned and developed a lot since then would pose a serious threat second time around

It would be great for Scotland to have a world champ again, and we can get some big shows at Braehead or Kelvin Hall.

    Good luck Ricky!!!!

I was speaking to my pal earlier about this and neither of us can see this woring at Braehead. Whilst Ricky is probably the biggest draw in Scotland at the moment I reckon this fight on it's own would only sell 2000 - 2500 (I'm reckoning about 1000 -15000 Burns fans and then about 1000 casual fans wanting to see a world title fight) then the undercard would be limited to what extra it would sell.
I hope I'm wrong because I want to see large crowds up here again, but I don't think we've quite got anyone who's up there with Harrison for crowds and ticket sales. Maybe of Burns wins thn it will become a different story

I must admit Rickster didnt box his best last time out, but at this best he gives most guys a hard nights work, if it is for the world instead of british I give him a good chance, mon Ricky:thumbsup

Towards the end Harrison wasnt even filling Braehead right enough, Im sure if they could come up with a Bill involving Burns, Simpson, Arthur, Kris Hughes, Craig Windsor, Gary Young maybe even one of the olympians (remember Kahn fought on a Harrison undercard) it would sell tickets.

ricky would sell at least 2,000 tickets himself as would willie limond, alex arthur has never been a big ticket seller couple of hundred at the most.be interesting to see were the fight will be held,id go for the kelvin hall, central for everyone.

Im not sure the kelvin hall would be big enough for demand, i was there when Limmond and Arthur fought on the same card (not against each other) and it was full that night, if you throw in Burns estimated 2000 then its a goer, get it on lads.

I think the probem there was that te fans got fed up waiting for a really big name opponent. At least one of those undercard fights would have to relatively big as Windsor, Hughes and Young were all on the card at the Pavillion on Sunday and that was less than 1500 of a crowd. Admittedly Young used to sell a good amount of the tickets for Harrison fights at Braehead and the support for Hughes does seem to be growing.
It would be good if there was somewher that was between the size of the Kelvin Hall and Braehead

sorry to say this but ricky burns has done nothing to deserve a world title fight,it makes a fool of boxing, good luck to him and he could beat martinez.
it is just the same as ricky hattons brother fighting for the welterweight world title last week ,cotto and pacman would have destroyed hatton and his opponent, because they were the best in the world, all these world titles make a fool of boxing,i dont think this fight will come off anyway.
go for the british title ricky its lying there oppen for u to take now.
richy struggled to beat a featherweight in ohara in his last fight ,i think martinez will be a hell of a lot harder

I agree with what you are saying but also feel I should point out Hatton didn't fight for a world title last week and everyone knows the WBO has **** rankings and is in Frank Warrens pocket.
