Boxers having promotional names / banners, i.e MP Promotions, Mayweather Promotions, Cotto Promotions is for tax benefits, pure and simple. It pertains to image right usage. I do know from experience having worked with different athletes in the past. There are also further tax benefits when deemed as running as a 'promotional' company.

PBF needs a GBP to put this together pure and simple. What, do you think Uncle Roger and Snr would know how to put a fight of this magnitude for Jnr??

    ****ing please....

Yep. As I said in my post above, it is a simple matter of business. Furthermore, businesses that earn income can invest with pre-tax dollars, etc.. Having promotional companies for fighters makes sense even if they're not really doing much promoting per se.

    hmm says . . .

must also be noted that Mayweather Promotions is just a mediocre co... so even if he's a special GBP fighter, PBF needs GBP's help in order to make the big mullahs...

No, Arum and mayweather promotions can't do business together because of their past. Floyd hired schaffer to conduct business on his behalf with Arum to get this mega fight done.

Dan Rafael stated that GBP only gets 5% of Mayweather's purse where Arum gets 27% off the gross of Pacquaio's purse.

    Who has the worse deal?

They only hired Oscar so Schaefer can work with Arum. Mayweather team wants the fight but with out any quarrels or distractions.

That was a concession when Mayweather failed to make weight.

GBP was supposed to protect their fighter but if look at the past events, it seemed that GBP was protecting Maywetaher.

To put in chronological order of the events that transpired in that fight,:

    1. The fight was negotiated and signed at 144 pounds (at that time Mayweather was not a GBP fighter from all indications, meaning no print or press conference stated it or could be inferred from the actions of both parties)

    2. Fight was re-scheduled to a latter date for a supoosedly rib injury.

    3. Night prior to the fight, the terms of the contract were changed from 144 to w elterweight limit of 147. This is significant because as long as Mayweather weighs in at the welterweight limit, JMM and his management can not cancel the fight, however, Mayweather had to pay for those extra 2 pounds only. Whereas, if it was not changed, if JMM decided not to fight, Mayweather would be liable for lost revenues to JMM, albeit probably a long court process. Had the contract not changed as well, Mayweather had to pay to the Nevada commission a hefty fine of 10 per cent, which is actually bigger than what he paid JMM.

Based on those proceeding, it would lead you to question the exact date when GBP started representing Mayweather, because he had been saying all along that nhe is his own boss. Logically (meaning inferring from theat timeline), GBP started the deal the night prior to the weigh-in. The most logical would be a threat to scrap the fight with a huge financial ruin to Mayweather.

Why would GBP allow the contaract to be changed at the eve of the actual contract if there is no catch. The fact that Mayweather can not really come in at 144 as opposed to EZE's contention, probably forced Mayweather to agree on the "unofficial" 5 fight deal.

Assuming that Nacho beristein is pragmatic, the most revealing was the fact that they did not force Mayweather to lose that extra 2 pounds, considering that his boy was already severely disadvantaged. It seemed that there was a connivance between GBP and Mayweather to sell short JMM.
