We all criticize Floyd for ducking, but he had the balls to do what Calzaghe didn't.

Hopkins lost his title on a very close and debateable decision.
He deserved a rematch.

People are getting things skewed a bit. Remember it was Hopkins who gave Calzaghe the opportunity, so he deserves a rematch if it's a close fight. And it was.

The criticism for Floyd is all about his recent choice of opponents. Very few argue about or criticise what he did up to 135lbs. I like Floyd but don't rate him as highly as I would if he regularly fought the best out there at his current weight.

Where was Oscar's rematch? Regardless of how you saw the fight go down it was a SD so DLH deserved another go.

Hopkins deserved a rematch based on how close the fight was but would anybody seriosuly have wanted to watch it? You can't spoil for a whole fight and then cry when you don't get a rematch. Aside from this Calzaghe was always going to get hate for his choice of opponents. A rematch with Hopkins wouldn't change that so why take the risk?

 

Calzaghe has been retired for a Year now,Let it go. Why not talk about fighters that are still fighting?
