Do me a favor, go spar a few rounds with Ward and ask him to headbutt you repeatedly like he headbutted Kessler, THEN tell us if people are making too much out of the butts...

It's not very easy to fight when you're bleeding like a pig above both eyes and the blood is streaming in your eyes and you can't see ****... But if you think that's nothing, just try for yourself and tell us your experience...

Unintentional headbutts happen in boxing, but if THAT what Ward was doing all evening was unintentional, I'll eat a broomstick and not anyone, but Harry Potter's Nimbus 2000... This was just disgusting, anywhere in the world he would have gotten points deductions and would have been DQed for this...

Now we know why Ward was insisting on fighting at home every time - to have hometown ref who thinks it's headbutting contest and not a boxing fight... How very disgusting...

But mark my words, Ward won't get very far with his headbutting, just wait and see...

 

You can make nicknames of Kessler following the Ward fight. But the names made for Ward should be a whole lot worse based on Ward's downright dirty tactics....headbutting...holding...etc.... How about "Ward not Abroad". Ward? Olympic Gold medalist and Headbutter.

You should be more concerned that you morons think Ward was intentionally head butting and doing it over and over and over. . and Kessler couldnt figure out a way to prevent it from happening.

you know what the difference was in that fight? 1 person came to FIGHT, the other guy came in to have a freindly sparring match. Well, guess it didnt turn out that way

However, I now watched the fight and expected a total shutout with Kessler eating a shipload of punches - but that didn't happen. Kessler didn't deliver much other than some jabs and was outlanded, but "domination" is what Wlad does to Chagaevs. There was no domination of Kessler, just a rusty fighter getting outsped and not even trying to do anything about it. Mayweather landed a ton of potshots on Hoya every round, Ward landed a couple of punches and avoided retalation. Going lunatic about it shows how much people suffered from going 0:2 to "the euros".

It wasn't so much the headbutts as the holding, Ward boxed brilliantly but he was allowed to spoil and hold far too much, he using the Mayweather trick of throwing the jab then ducking sideways into the clinch to avoid a counter.

When you cut a guy over both eyes with seperate headbutts, there is cause for complaint, not that Im saying thats the reason Kessler lost, but please, the second headbutt was like an expresstrain.

 

Ward would have won anyway but he did come up with his head and that is very dangerous.
