To be fair,I think they might have arranged the fight with Prescott thinking he was just a decent boxer/puncher in preperation for bigger fights.

    If that makes any sense.

His style pre Roach was just mad(but exciting). I think Roach deserves respect for changing Khan and Warren for keeping him on PPV,securing his title shot.

Without Roach, the title wouldn't have happened.

Yeah Hatton may be past his best, Khan may be faster, BUT if Ricky catches him, KO time:rofl Would be interesting, IF Ricky can get into good shape, would even tip him

As a promoter I'd guess its pretty hard to find a boxer-puncher worthy of the name that won't knock your chinny prospect out!!!

i think khan would be too quick for hatton. hatton cant handle speed and roach knew exactly what he was doin with hatton first time round, he knows hatton too well

It was just bizarre even on the face of it, going from 30% KO ratios to a 90% KO ratio. They figured he's a bum, obviously. But its still a 90% KO ratio...

Not that we're all geniuses that expected it to happen like it did, but as a promoter and fighter you are judged on how things end up so there are questions over why they did it like they did.

God I hate these kinds of fights , its bad enough when its a young up and comer feasting on the remnants of once great fighters but Khan is a world champion now , Ricky wasnt great with speedy guys at his peak by the time this rolls around it will be a massacre. This is really what boxing needs ............

Half agree, but it's Khan chin that makes it interesting cause everyone knows if Rick catches him a decent shot he will turn to dust:D

I dont get this why do you think he has one left in him ? he is 31 which is getting on in years for a LWW even if he looked after himself , he spent his entire career walking forward taking one to go give one , he blows up beyond almost anything I've ever seen between fights and he boozes !

Booze ( and extreme weight loss )destroys reflexes before anything else yet he is going to deal with one of the fastest fighters around.

he is lucky is career lasted as long as it did.

I cant stop them fighting but when people say boxing is bull**** , with stuff like this going on its hard to argue !

Why not just hand the belt back and get Barrera back over too

Ok Barrera was being ott :D

But what I'm saying is he cant get himself into "shape" again. Yeah he can lose the weight but thats not the same thing. De la Hoya lost the weight to fight Pac but he wasnt in fighting shape and De la Hoya never abused his body the way Hatton did.

Its almost as if Hatton purposefully did everything he could to have a short career and then to top it all off he'll be what 32 and out of the ring for near as dammit a year by the time the fight rolled around going in against one of the most athletic gifted fighters this country has ever produced. Lazcano would have KOed hatton were it not for the refs new shoeloace rule ( and that was 18 months ago ) so 2 and a half years later Hatton is going to put a fight against a closing in on peak Khan ?

    its not for me !

Hatton has always tried to model himself on Duran (whose his idol) in/out of the ring, Duran in his 2nd career into his 30's was more than a party animal 24/7 hence some lackluster performence's by always blowing up 3/4 stone, but Duran had the boxing savvy too win the Lt/Middle title at 32 & middle at 37, But Ricky ai'nt Duran.

Well bro were talking something that aint happened yet so i certainly cant say you are wrong.

however when the fight happens and after 7 rounds an emaciated looking Hatton is sitting on his stool pishing blood having been throwing punches at a space Khan once occupied for 21 minutes , don't say i didnt warn you. ;)

I'll just read about it on here because I sure as **** wont be watching it.
