Nunn ran into that perennial p4p'er Charlie C White got the old left nostril right nostril combination and was never the same since. I had Toney down by 1 but coming on strong.
Agree though Nunn could have been a superstar en all, well spoken good lookin chap, slick moves tis a shame. Similar to how I feel about Meldrick Taylors career
Whats news is there to tell? He's locked up...for a very long time. We can only reflect on what a great fighter he was, which is what I'm trying to do...now.
It has been years, but I remember Toney losing. Toney was playing possum for the entire fight and WHAM. I got angry due to Nunn getting hit behind the head immediately after that punch and the ref should have stopped it and given Nunn time. Time; meaning warn Toney for the rabbit punch. Would have it been enough time to recoup? Maybe not. I have never seen Nunn hurt like that. Nunn was not dominating Toney, but in my eyes he was winnning easily. Again, it has been many years since I saw the fight.
Michael Nunn would slap the **** out of Kelly. The Nunn who beat Tate looked unbeatable. I actually had him #1 PFP for a brief period of time and thats when Tyson and Chavez were Peaking, but he was eratic he ran his ass off against Barkley and was never an elite fighter again after the Toney fight. He was still a pretty good super middle and Light Heavy but nothing special. I disagree that he would dominate at Lt HEavy he wasn't all that by the time he moved up. He could beat Pascal, but id pick Dawson or Hopkins over him at Lt Heavy. His footwork was almost gone,His speed was good but no longer great,he still had very good boxing skills and somewhat decent power but was just a shell of the mw version.
I actually think it was the Iran Barkley that changed Michael Nunn. Barkley really brought the fight too him and Nunn was never really the fighter he was after that fight.
