Why is the Roy Jones v Green fight on a Wednesday?

    I saw the date and thought that cant be right, thats a wednesday...

    but double checked it and it is next wednesday.

    I know its in Australia but why in the middle of the week? What the hell is wrong with those Aussies:huh

    We always have these fights on a Wednesday.

    Probably because then they don't have to compete with any other sport as it's not as big a market here.

    As VIP said less competition with other sports..At the end of the day most people watching will be casual fans who have other sports they would prefer to watch if they had the choice...The pubs will be full to the brim with people only coming to watch the fight.
