I'm happy to hear Team Pavlik moved it's camp to Vegas, too many distractions back home as Kelly admitted in an interview. Training camps are set away from home with the outside cut out so the fighters could focus 100%. I'm not happy how Team Pavlik handled the Williams situation and this December fight is very suspect, but I'm glad that they moved the camp for Kelly's benefit.
right, like there isn't drinkiing and women in Las Vegas either. He needs to dump that YMCA trainer of his and get a real trainer. That would be my first order of business.. And I agree, Paul Williams got screwed but you know what...he should fight the guy who BEAT the guy, not go after sloppy seconds. OH well..Martinez is going to make P-dub look unstoppable.
It's certainly worth a try. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't work out, but it's a good idea to see how it goes, because YT doesn't seem to be the best location in the world for a training camp. I'm more worried about his hand than anything, though.
Anything is better than Youngstown. Looks like Kelly is finally trying to back on the right track. I'm glad to hear it.
Soto-Chavez should be a good one. And there is another interesting fighter on the card but I forget which.:huh
Youngstown is fine for his camp, its a runners paradise. Its the irate hometown fans that bring him down. Since his hand infection, about a 1/4 of the hometown "pride" has been lost. He just needs to get away and clear his head and get back to what brought him here. Knocking people out.
He's ducking Paul Williams, blatantly. And people are still supporting him like he's their blood brother.
Yes its obvious he's ducking PW, but if the infection stories are true, there is a very good justification for wanting someone a lot less skilled than Williams. They will likely view this as prep time for KP and the Williams fight will still materialize in the future, with both fighters presumably at their best. I'm no KP fan, but I do want to see him at his best against PW, so there's no excuses for him lossing, which I think he will. However, I do think that Williams will have a greater chance than Hopkins ever had, of being KO'd by Pavlik. which is why the fight will be interesting. Again, if KP's infection was really as bad as his claim, his camp made a smart decission to duck Williams for now.
It's a Latin Fury card that was already in the making when the WBC and WBO started making noise about stripping KP. Latin Fury cards are ALWAYS ppv's.
