Calzaghe clearly is higher. He kicked Hopkins arse in front of his hmetown crowd and was undefeated champion for 11 years! LOL It ain`t even close.

I beg to differ. I think its alot closer than you think. Calzaghe didnt fight the same level of opposition as Hopkins did.

Also I wouldnt say Calzaghe kicked Hopkins arse, it was a close fight.

It shouldn't even have been up for debate, Calzaghe rates a lot higher than Hopkins easily. Calzaghe top 15 ATG. :deal

Based upon any criteria Hopkins is better than Calzaghe.

Popkins the list maker decides what boxers are the same standard , you are trying to tell me that certain people on my list are of a similar ability , its the list maker that will decide if two or more boxers are of similar ability, not you , you are arguing that I am not using my own system because you think that Duran and Benitez are the same standard, I dont think they are the same standard , its my list.:nut
Go and produce your own list.

Schmeling is on my list, of course. At heavyweight. Firmly inside the Top20 between 16 and 19 alongside Ezzard Charles, Jersey Joe Walcott and Floyd Patterson.

Not a lot in that one, Oscar was badly overrated, he did fight the best repeatedly tho, credit to him.
I actually think Calzaghe was a better p4p fighter, certainly in a H2H sense.

    Oscar`s fame >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Oscar`s ability.

This is a great post, I like both JC & Hopkins but one is loved & one is hated on ESB.

This post is closest to the truth than most.

Its not closeset to the truth. The only similarities is that they won a lot of fights. When you breakdown their records and comp, Hopkins has better comp, and the fights he won later in his career are leagues more impressive than the ones Joe did.
