last I checked Mexico is still the most dominatng country in boxing aside from the u.s... And don't tell me tour honestly naive enough to believe that pr has more prospects co ing than the mexico

I do believe there is still lots of talent south of the border.

 

Mexicans are ring warriors without a doubt the known ones like barrera and morrales are retired and the upcomng fighters are born on raised in america so some of them didnt know poverty like morales,poverty breeds a lot of things including determination and that is pacquiao story though he is a filipino but there are mexicans that went thru the sames odds of life and overcame as well,the upcoming mexican fighters are not and will never be the old warriors of mexicans.

 

You have some good points but there has been a lot of Mexican/Americans with a Warrior mentality like the ones from Mexico. Vargas,Chacon,Tapia,Little Red,Juarez and yes even Arreola. Just to name a few of the top of my head.

 

Definatley and there's still warriors from Mexico like el perro angulo, canelo alvarez, and tony margo

 

Can't believe Alvarez and I are the same age. I love watching that guy fight.

 

have you heard about that 17 year old kid Jose Benavides that Roach is training He is a 6-0 Jr Welter who spars on even terms with Amir Kahn. ROach says this is his best prospect. Hes from LA but raised in Phoenix.
Then there is another 17 year old Frankie Gomez from East LA who beat Benavides in the Nationals and went on to win Silver in the World Championships losing to the experienced Cuban in the finals.
These kids sound pretty impressive and they are only 17!

 

don't worry Mexico is a big country. there will be more future world champions on the way.:good

 

the ones that impress me the most are alfonso lopez and canelo alvarez. those 2 have serious, serious talent especially lopez. he fights like his father Finito Lopez and now we might get to see how a fighter with such a perfectionist style like Finito's would fare in higher weight divisions. the closest that seemed similiar was the Marquez brothers as they had the same trainer in Beristein, but still not as refined as Finitos. i heard supposedly in sparring lopez would own rafa marquez's ass daily until finally when lopez was on the downslide rafa was able to best him. what a great fighter Finito was.
